Weight Loss and some other benefits of Matcha Tea

Remember Matcha? Of course you do. It was a huge thing a couple of years ago and some still make sure to include it in their diet. Wonder why that is? Well, Matcha tea apparently has many qualities that benefit the human body and help you lead a healthier lifestyle. Curious what they are? Here are a few of them:

  1. Matcha tea is packed with antioxidants.

According to some research referenced here, Matcha is not only packed with antioxidants, but in fact it might have more than any other superfood. This is quite important as antioxidants help with the good functioning of the human body and protect your skin from damage thus ensuring it will look better for longer. This all related back to free radicals, discussed here.

2. Matcha tea helps improve energy levels

Day to day life can stressful and at times we need some extra energy to manage to deal with everything. Personally, I try to stay away from the usual energy enhancers as they can have some pretty nasty side effects. I look at my friends who are addicted to coffee and I am glad that I never gave in. I stick to green stuff that makes most people want to cry, but green is better and that includes matcha. If you are tempted, you can try this Matcha drink which will give you that extra boost in no time and without any side effects. Win-win.

3. Matcha tea helps with weight loss

Another reason why you might want to adopt matcha tea as part of your daily routine is due to the fact that studies have shown that matcha tea can help with weight loss. This is great, isn’t it? There is finally something natural that you can consume without worrying about side effects and that helps you reach your weight goals. There is no magic or gimmicks involved here really, the tea just helps improve your metabolic rate so as you exercise you lose more than you would have before you started consuming the tea. Many of my friends and myself included, have benefited from this in the past so I assure you that it definitely has a positive impact. Even when I am not exercising as much which let’s be honest, it is quite often, matcha tea helps me maintain my weight which for me is a feat all in itself since my weight tends to fluctuate greatly due to many other reasons I won’t go into right now.

These are just some reasons why Matcha is good for you, but if you search online you will find many more. As for the teas that you can consume, there are many on the market and you just need to find the one that is best for you. I honestly struggled with this for a bit as matcha tea is not as tasty as some other fruity teas out there or like my vanilla chai, but what healthy thing actually is? Recently, I have been consuming MindPower Matcha from Bloom Teas London and I think it is one of the best I tried so far. The tea is not as affordable, but Matcha tea generally isn’t. You can buy it either directly from the source or you can head into your local Harvey Nichols (or shop online) and get some reward points while you are at it. When it comes to actually consuming it, you can either brew it like you would a regular tea or you can add it to your food. It goes perfectly with an avocado salad! Time to get creative!

Have you ever tried Matcha tea? Which is your favourite way to consume it?
