Herbivore Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner

You cannot believe just how long I have been meaning to try out something from Herbivore. First, I loved the look of the brand on Instagram and then I checked out the products on the Space.NK website. Sadly each time there was a gift with purchase, the products I wanted were sold out.

You know me, I try not to spend on luxury products if there is not a gift with purchase involved, With around 3 gifts every 3-4 months or so, there is no need for me to spend outside of these promotions..

Okay, so let’s go back to Herbivore. So now you know that I wanted to try the products for quite some time and I finally managed to get my hands on one recently. The Herbivore Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner was part of the Space.NK gift with purchase from March 2019. Keep on reading and this is one product that you might want to try as well.

You made it past my babble. Congrats! So many people cannot stand it, but it is part of my charm you know. Kidding, charm is something I lack. Anyway, before we go into more detail, you must know that I consider most toners as a waste of money. Many of them are just coloured and fragranced water that have no beneficial effect on the skin, at least not ones that I can see. That is not always the case, of course. One toner that is worth purchasing is the Pixi Glow Tonic and now, here is another.

The moment I fist tried the Herbivore Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner I knew that it was different. In fact, the moment I first sprayed it onto my cotton pad I thought it felt different. That probably makes no sense and probably a greta part of it was just my enthusiasm, but there was something about the product that made me want to try it as soon as the first drops fell onto the cotton pad.

The toner feels really nice on the skin, but compared to other such products, I prefer to press it into the skin rather than rub it. As I press, I can feel that it seeps into the pores and cleans then somehow.

The product leaves my skin glowing and refreshed, but the Salicylic Acid in this toner helped me deal with some really stubborn spot. I had been dealing with those spots for days (cystic acne..) and the day after I first tried the toner, I woke up with visibly reduced spots. The same thing happened the next day and so on until the spots were gone. Colour me impressed. I know that Salicylic Acid has this effect, but it never worked for me before.

I also found the product to be very calming to the skin.

However, the fragrance is soothing that takes some getting used to. The jasmine does help. The product’s fragrance is not horrible, but it is stronger than what you probably encountered before, at least in a toner.

There are some minuses sure, but the pluses more than make up for them. Let’s just say that I look forward everyday to using the Herbivore Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner as part of my routine. This product is one I will definitely repurchase and I 100% recommend you give it a try.  The toner does not contain parabens, sulphates and phthalates and it is silicone and preservative free.

    1. It really is and I am not easily impressed. I also don’t write positive reviews just for the sake of writing a review. You can check my previous work if you haven’t already.
