Morphe x Jeffree Star Eyeshadow Artistry Palette

The moment you’ve all been waiting for is here. Well, I hope that you have been waiting for this. Is that too much hope on my behalf? Well, anyway here it is – the review of the  Morphe x Jeffree Star eyeshadow palette.

I’ve had the palette for a few weeks now, but I have been postponing writing the review as swatching such a big palette takes time. It takes even more time to play with the shadows and form an opinion. However, there is no delaying it now. Since you can now shop the Morphe range, including the Jeffree Star collaboration at Boots now, I thought this was the best time to post this. So I got over my increased level of procrastination and here I am.

Morphe x Jeffree Star Eyeshadow Artistry Palette Review

The first you notice about the plate is of course the obvious pink which by now you are probably accustomed to if you have been following Jeffree Star on either YouTube or Instagram. On the outside, the palette is absolutely gorgeous and there is a clear indication that much thought has gone into it and ensuring that the eyeshadow palette is on brand.

The next thing you notice is the size of the palette. The palette has an incredibly generous size. While this might make it a bit inconvenient to take with while travelling, it is a great size to have while you are experimenting and playing with colour.

This brings me to the third thing – colour. The eyeshadows are incredibly colourful. The range of colours kinda reminds of the Jawbreaker Palette that Jeffree Star launched earlier this year, but there are clear differences. With 30 colours to chose from, you are clearly spoilt for choice when it comes to this palette.

In the above photos you can see swatches of all the colours included in the  Morphe x Jeffree Star Artistry palette. Like I said above, you clearly have where to chose from with this palette.

The swatches are done row by row if you are interested.

As it can be seen above, not all shadows are the same. Some of the shadows are matte, some are metallic and a few are glitter.

Let’s talk about the matte shadows now. I have to admit that I was incredibly surprised when I first swatches these eyeshadows as matte ones have managed to disappoint me time and time again whether they were created by Morphe or not. That was not really the case here. Not only the matte shadows were incredibly creamy, but they are also pretty pigmented. The few matters that I am not fond of are the green ones, but I have not managed to find green shadows that I actually like so far so that was quite expected. I also want to add that some of the more dark pinkish shades left a bit of a stain upon removal. That is also known to happen, but the stain came off after two rounds of cleansing.

The glitter shades are incredible and so are the metallic ones. I have to say that I am obsessed with how well these applied when swatched. There is no need for further comment here as you can all see just how pretty these are and how well they swatch.

Okay so now that I talked about the shadows when swatched, let’s talk about them when it comes to brush application. Brush application makes it so that some of the pigment is lost, but not an awful lot which is great. I was quite happy with the pigment payoff when I applied the eyeshadow to my lids. It is nearly as good as when swatched using a finger. That is not that common unfortunately.

I really don’t know what else to add. I believe that what you have seen above speaks for itself.

Overall, the Morphe x Jeffree Star Artistry Palette is an amazing palette. The colours of the shadows are beautiful and the pigmentation is fantastic. This palette is also clearly a product of a true collaboration as the quality and attention to detail that went into this palette is at the same level that we came to associate with Jeffree Star Cosmetics products.

Furthermore, this palette is not only perfect for those who wish to play with the colours, but it is also a great alternative for those who were interested in trying Jeffree’s products but were unwilling to pay the price tag these products come with. While the products might not be identical, the quality and pigmentation is almost on the same level.

Either way, as long as you love the colours and have a need for this palette you are bound to enjoy it. This is truly a good investment.
