So I am back to talking about Nivea. It has been a short while haha. Now that I started with Nivea due to their beauty advent calendar, I am not sure I am going to stop anytime soon. Hope you don’t, mind. Do you do not, right? Nivea is just one of those brands that I find is impossible not to love. It has been a constant in my life ever since I can remember and now that I rediscovered my love for the brand in amore active way so to speak, I won’t stop trying out their new products so hang on. But int he meantime, I want to talk to you about an oldie, but goldie which is the Hydro Care Lip Balm.

Nivea Hydro Care Lip Balm Review

The Nivea Hydro Care Lip Balm is unlike anything I have tried before. The lip balm has a nice clean and sort of fresh scent. It smells almost like skincare in a way, but that is not what caught my attention. The texture of the lip balm is so different, it is different than anything else I have seen before.

The Hydro Care Lip Balm has such a thick texture which is so weird. It is not even the same kind of weird as the Baume de Rose from byTerry or the lip treatment from Jo Malone. The lip balm from Nivea might apply really thick, but it does not feel sticky and it is not even annoying. It is actually really pleasant, but not necessary something I would apply when out and about. I would use the Hydro Care Lip Balm from Nivea at night or when inside. I cannot imagine how lipstick would feel on top of this. I could not bring myself to try to be honest. When you have this product on which is so think, the last thing you think about is adding an extra layer.

However, despite all of this, I found the balm to be oily comforting. You know that you have that extra layer protecting your lips, taking care of them. It is like you have a blanket on. This is strange, a very strange thing to say about a lip balm, but that is how I felt.

In addition, the Hydro Care Lip Balm is insanely hydrating and it truly does take good care of your lips, that is if my security blanket analogy did not already give it all away.

Overall, this balm from Nivea is the perfect example that some things don’t need to cost a fortune and that you can get quality even in drugstores.
