What to do if the gift is not automatically added to your basket?
There are sometimes issues with the beauty gift with purchase offer from Harvey Nichols. It happened to me quite a few times already and I know that I am not the only one who had to go through this. Here are a few things that worked in solving this issue.
Usually, I would call the customer service department and place my order while on the phone with them. They would then check the contents of my basket in order to ensure that the contents of my order fulfilled the requirements. Then they would email me another invoice with the beauty gift with purchase offer on it and that was that. However, you do have to let them know if there is an issue.
A second solution that worked and that is a much easier fix, is to create a new account. There were a few issues in the past with the HN website and some accounts were affected. Mine was one of them. Moving to a new account solved this issues and I have not encountered it since. However, moving to a new account means loosing all the points you have accumulated. As mentioned above though, this was a permanent fix.

Jinmee Hydrapuff Skincare Sheets – available here – these little sheets are versatile, you can use them on your checks, under your eyes, on your chin or wherever you needs some extra TLC. All you need to do is add your favourite serum or essence and you are good to go.

Dior Lip Glow and Lip Maximiser Duo – available here – Lip Maximiser review here – these two are my absolute favourite lip products from Dior and I believe they are highly underrated and mistakenly ignored by many. They provide you with just enough colour to make your lips pouty and sexy as hell without being too obvious.
Dior Prestige Micro-Lotion de Rose – available here – this is a super luxurious skincare product that leaves your skin feely soft and super hydrated. It does not hurt that it looks incredible on your vanity either! This is a product I am obsessed with and I know it is not the kind of product I usually recommend, but there is just something about it that makes me love it so much even though I am still trying to figure out exactly why. It is really good though.
I have a few more options, but I do not feel comfortable sharing them here without a first proving you with a full review as they are amazing products, but they all have cheaper alternatives that are just as good or better. Also, some of my other recommendations are already include din the gift.

No not yet. I just think there are SO many great beauty advent calendars this year, I simply don’t no which one to go for… Your posts always want to buy one of each haha <3
This year the two staple items “everywhere” seem to be an Augustinus Bader cream and a Laura Mercier mini lipstick. Last year and 2 years ago it was the Omorovicza mist and a mascara. I’m glad mascara is not so ubiquitous this year because I’d end up with 2 years worth of stash but I’d love the mist!
Actually the Augustinus Bader cream was included in several calendars last year as well. This year, at least Niche Beauty included the Face Oil rather than the cream which is nice for a change. This year however my highest issue is with those who have included several lipsticks… I mean, why??
Funnily enough ever since the lockdown I’ve finally started to use up my make-up, especially lip products. I don’t go out much but I wear everyday for remote work and at home to enjoy funkier colours I have but wouldn’t wear for my usual social interactions. I think of the 50s and 60s when apparently a red lipstick for every middle class woman’s staple and they’d always wear it.
It reminds me a bit my grandma’s style, she would wear full face make-up even when going across the street to buy bread in the morning.
We’ve also had this conversation here about the most affordable luxury item being a lipstick, I guess this might be one of the reasons lipsticks are so ubiquitous now. Or there’s too much stock for obvious reasons ^^;
Yes. unlike every other crisis in history when lipstick became the small luxury most could afford, now there is less need for it as you’d aid, for obvious reasons. In a way, I would build a smalls stock now ( assuming their would not spoil) rather than purchase a lipstick in a few months or even a year unless it is a new launch. In general, I guess it would be safer to stay away from lipstick on the next 1-2 years unless new launches as… they could be old due to inability to sell off everything. I love the fact that you are wearing more makeup now 😆 We do our remote calls with the camera off. However, since I started wearing makeup at 18-19 I always get my face done when going to the corner shop. Of course, my routine is very simple and lightweight so I understand. 🙂
