Hello my darlings. I am back again with a surprise. For the first time in a long as I can remember, Selfridges is releasing their own beauty advent calendar. I know they released some collabs with Lancome in the past, but I really do not remember a beauty advent calendar like the ones from other department stores, Correct me if I am wrong. Until then, here are the deets.

How much is the Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar worth?

The calendar is worth over £500! The calendar from Selfridges is priced at £210 which makes it around the same as the other high-end department store ones. I would say this is acceptable.

When will the Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar be available?

The Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar is out now and can be purchased here.

Not sure whether you care, but as always, I have some thoughts. First of all, I am obsessed with the design of the Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar. Secondly, like I mentioned above, I only remember the collaborations between Selfridges and Loncome and maybe, maybe one tiny and unimpressive calendar, but really fuzzy about that one. Either there were no classic beauty advent calendars or they were really boring. Can someone enlighten me?? The Lancome ones I recall because I made the mistake of purchasing one some years back.

About the calendar… I love the design, but a box won’t help me at all right now. I am still trying to get rid of the ones from previous years which somehow became an integral part of my decor. Now, seriously, the contents matter way more, The contents are all that matter here, especially when the price is quite steep. I like the contents and I feel the choices are really good. I am more than curious to try some of the products, but I also own close to half of them already which is really bad. I rarely get calendars to get my hands on yet another product I tried before, regardless of its size. Of course, if it full size, I can appreciate it, if it is deluxe or sample, I would have preferred a product I have not formed an opinion on so that I have more content to share with you (not that I have not done a pretty poor job at reviewing products). It really depends on you as an individual and your needs.

Okay, so the price. Hmm, the price/value ratio is not the best Sure, you do get a bargain, but have a look at the Liberty or Fortnum calendars. If you do, this bargain will fall short, really short.

Overall, I like the Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar and if it were not for the products I own, I probably would not even hesitate to get this one. However, as things stand, I am not sure. How about you?

  1. I like the contents but not for this price. Compared to Look Fantastic calendar for 85 GBP and quite a similar value, here this 210 GBP look really expensive. But at least Selfridges doesn’t force customers to shop more expensively because they convert currencies. And the shipping costs are the same as for Liberty and Fortnum’s, 15 GBP (unlike Harrod’s with their 29 GBP shipping costs…)

    1. Selfridges as a store is a nice option as they have their delivery subscription service which worlds in Europe as well and it is like £10 per year for unlimited deliveries. Too bad for the advent calendar value. I do wish it would have been higher. I always pay in GBP at Selfridges but never attempted the other retailers. As mentioned in previous comment, I will have a look and get back to you. I find that incredibly strange and let’s not mention, wrong

  2. I never really shopped online at Selfridges but with a shipping fixed payment I’d definitely check. Thanks for the protip!
    I remember I liked Selfridges best from the three department stores at Oxford Street back when I lived in London (the other two were John Lewis and Debenhams)

    1. Ok I did not know you liked in London. 🙂 I will make sure to post an article on it. I have been meaning to since June but seriously, life has a tendency to get away from me 😂

      1. Service subscription is a trend I like. I use it for shipping with an e-commerce platform here in my country and used it for cinemas back when I could go. Doesn’t always pay off and i.e. the cinema made single tickets so expensive that you felt forced to buy the subscription or simply not go to the cinema (it’s a big chain, available across the whole country) but then finding two movies a month I wanted to see started to be a challenge ^^;

      2. in some cases it makes sense like Amazon Prime for example. What I particularly like about this Selfridges service is that the UK&EU are on the same plan rather than the EU falling in the more expensive plan with ROW
