Oh My Cream Beauty Advent Calendar Review

In case you missed it, a few minutes ago I posted about my experience with ordering at Oh My Cream. You might want to check it out even if you are not interested in the beauty advent calendar. Who knows? You might find some other goodies. Anyway, let’s get back on track now.

Here are my thoughts on the Oh My Cream Beauty Advent Calendar.

Oh My Cream Advent Calendar Delivery

The delivery of my Oh My Cream Beauty Advent Calendar was pretty much straightforward and ran smoothly. Even the courier did not complain about having to bring the calendar to my door rather and me going outside to pick it up. He asked, I refused.

I have nothing against going outside normally, and have had to do so hundreds if not close to a thousand times over the past 10 years and I am not exaggerating. I used to live in places with what a Tesco delivery person called it “more security than a prison”. I used to have at least 5 locked doors between the building door and my own flat door. It was just a regular building though so do not think otherwise. Was annoying, but loved the security of it all. Anyway, now that I am working, I cannot just leave everything behind even for a few minutes. But most of all, couriers call to let me know that they will arrive in 5 minutes and arrive in 30. This happens often and it just won’t do. I do understand that these are difficult times and make sure to show my appreciation in tips, free masks if they need them etc.

There might have been a small hiccup with the tracking number, but cannot really comment as I do not know what happened. It was either created and then took longer to hand in the parcel or simply the delivery service did not scan it when they got it. It all worked – a bit more details you can find in the article linked above.

Oh My Cream advent Calendar Price

The Oh My Cream Beauty Advent calendar was €150. It is at the lower end of luxurious calendars. I do believe that the price is pretty acceptable. Unfortunately, I do not know whether the value of the contents is actually higher, but I strongly suspect it is.

Oh My Cream Beauty Advent Calendar Box

I love that the calendar was not a traditional calendar and instead it came in a vanity makeup case. I love traditional calendars as they are special in their own way, but even the ones I kept are so useless in the end. They take up so much space and it is hard to perfectly fit beauty products or other stuff in them in order to justify why you kept them. If you have tons of free space (who does?) then okay, but….

A vanity case on the other hand is reusable. You can either use it to store your goodies, use it on your travels or even give it away as a gift and not just repatriate (a bit extreme, but you know what I mean) junk. The vanity case is good quality, it is made of rougher fabric which I am guessing is due to the whole clean, eco friendly philosophy of the brand. I personally do not mind. I believe it has character. Also, it is not dyed as far as I can tell or if it is, it looks pretty much like the natural colour of the fabric.

It is not a glamorous vanity case, but it is a protective one. The vanity case is sturdy. Furthermore, it comes with elastic bands on the sides to hold items upright, but also a pocket and a small pouch for smaller items. In addition, on the top of the case, there is a small mirror. Really cute even if not at all my style.

Comments

I liked the calendar from the first time I saw it. I was a bit unsure of the product sizes as many of the products are sample/travel sized, but it works. There are so many products included in this calendar that I have not come across before that I am actually happy to have gotten it. Plus, this calendar is filled with skincare and the few makeup items included are actually a hybrid between skincare and makeup. Plus, the products are clean beauty! This is a more luxurious version of a beauty advent calendar perfect for those who only buy clean beauty products.

Look, this is not an awe inspiring advent calendar in my opinion. I did not have as strong of a reaction as I had last year when I got the SkinCity Beauty Advent Calendar which is quite telling for me personally, but I do not regret my purchase. What made me get this calendar is that it is different. I am a bit tired of the same old and this is definitely not like all the others. And that is what made me appreciate this beauty advent calendar even more.

Overall, I do recommend it. It is a good calendar filled with great products from what i have seen so far. Stay tuned as product reviews will follow starting December 1st.

The calendar is still available at the time of writing and can be purchased here.
