Sisley Floral Toning Lotion

Today I am back with a short review of a product from a brand I have yet to talk about on this platform which is Sisley Paris. Sisley Paris, as I am sure you are well aware is a high end, luxury beauty brand. Over the years, I was lucky enough to try and use some of their products. One such product is the Floral Toning Lotion and I picked today of all days to finally share with you my opinion of and experience with this product. Okay, I just disposed of my last deluxe sample bottle I kept for sentimental reasons (not really! I honestly have no clue why I event kept it for this long) and though it was time to talk about it here as well.

Sisley Floral Toning Lotion Review

From the moment I opened the small bottle of product, I could sense that fragrance or the kind of fragrance rather than I often associate with luxury skincare brands. The fragrance is not strong by any means, it is more discrete and elegant which is quite characteristic of brands such as Sisley. Personally, in such cases I believe it adds to the experience, but I do agree that it does not have any actual skincare benefits. I feel like such a “bad” skincare lover right now, but I do like pretty smelling stuff (in moderation). I love being able to feel that beautiful scent on my skin, however I know that some fragrances can lead to allergic reactions, especially in those of you with sensitive skin. Personally I never had an issue, but the story would be very different had I gone though what some of you have.

When it comes to using this product, well I prefer to apply the Toning Lotion using a cotton round. The Toning Lotion from Sisley feels quite nice on the skin. It is soothing and comforting and it leaves the skin feeling hydrated and soft. There is not stripping of the skin nor any greasy residue left. The Floral Toning Lotion from Sisley also removes any dirt or lint particles left behind after cleansing. As you can tell from my experience though, using the Toning Lotion feels like using any other okay-ish toner. There is nothing truly special about it or the experience as a whole and that is an issue.

Given the price tag of the product, one would expect an extraordinary experience. I am not being absurd here. A toner is a toner, however there are some that do distinguish themselves from others in terms of texture, in terms of effectiveness, of something.. There is not really any of that here IMO. It could the quality of the ingredients used, yes, I am wiling to give it that even though I actually have no proof that the ingredients used are higher in terms of quality, but as for the ingredients themselves… there is nothing special I could find.

The one ingredient on the list that caught my attention is Witch Hazel. Witch Hazel can normally feel a bit stripping, but given the formula of this product, it does not. That is a welcome surprise. The ingredient itself is one I like and it helped me in the past with irritated pores and whatnot and well as oil secretion. Also, it is an ingredient that is not quite that common in products sold in Europe, at least it does not feel like it is when one goes to seek out products that include it, lest luxury ones.

I honestly do not know what else to say. I like this product and yet, I would not repurchase it. I would be more than happy to receive it in another beauty gift or beauty kit or whatever. It would actually make me quite happy to see it included, but I would not go out and dish out nearly £100(not quite, but..) on it. It is a beautiful product, but one that does not do anything more than an above average toner. Too bad, as Sisley is one of the luxury brands I do like.
