Okay, so before I say what I initially planned on saying and definitely before going into the contents and takin them apart (just kidding!), can we talk about the fact that Harvey Nichols also showcases the value of the gift on Euros? As far as I know this gift unfortunately only ships to the UK. Plus, I have tried some random countries to see whether it would ship there and the answer is no. If you do find any other countries than the UK whether you can purchase this gift from, can you please let me know or rather let us know. Thank you! (update: It is because of Dublin…I was getting my hopes up for no reason)

Okay, the next observation I have before I dare comment on the products is the value. The spring gift was disappointing, yes, but that is not news. The Spring gift was never quite like the Autumn one. However, this gift should have been impressive. In recent years the value has gone up and up. That is not the case this time, in my humble opinion. The value of this gift is disappointing to say the least and the threshold you need to reach in order to receive this gift is pretty much the same as last year or the year before that. What that means is that we are getting less value for the same amount of money, to put it bluntly.

Product wise, yes the lineup of this new beauty gift with purchase from Harvey Nichols is pretty nice and we can see some products featured on the list that we might have never dreamt of seeing such as La Mer, just to give an example.

In terms of product reviews, I did leave a few links above. However, I also add that the Eve Lot Cleanser is pretty good at what it is supposed to be doing. The cleanser feels nice on the skin, however the smell is not that pleasant. It is a herbal smell, but personally I mostly perceive it as that of smoked meat.

The 111 Skin Rose Gold Illuminating Eye Masks are kinda interesting. I ignored the brand for so long, but there is quite a lot to be discovered when it comes to 111Skin. If you have been giving away the products or simply stashed them away only to forget you have them, it might be time to stop doing that. I won’t deny that some products from he brand are severely overpriced, perhaps we cane even include these eye masks in that category, but there are some gems to be discovered. These masks in particular do a pretty great job at hydrating the skin underneath the eyes and leaving the skin looking better and to some extent they do work better than other such products on the market, but they are still overpriced Luckily, this gift gives you the opportunity to try them without having to spend you hard earn cash on them so if we are looking at things from hat perspective, then they are a good addition.

Speaking about overpriced products, the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream is another one. The cream is sort of nice and it is hydrating, but I do not believe the hype around this product has any merit. This is the chance to try it out and see for yourself whether the investment is worth it for you. Personally, I can tell you that it is not.

The Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer is actually a product that I do enjoy using, not that I get the chance to do so anymore these days. The gloss feels nice on the lips, looks great and it has a nice texture. The gloss is not overly sticky so it feels nice eon the lips overall.

I am going to stop commenting on the products now before there is anything left for me to comment on…

Overall, I honestly do not know what to tell you. You get quite a few products in this autumn beauty gift so if you planned on giving the above products a try, then this is a great opportunity. There is no denying that. However, the so called “price” (probably no need for the equation marks) point is still a bit too high given the value you receive, especially knowing that HN was able to deliver much more value in the past. I know, as I discovered the other day, I do have a difficulty grasping price increases and my expirations are sky high and have aways been this way, but with so many other offers our there…. retailers also need to be competitive IMO.

  1. Ah, those were the days when HN GWPs were valued over 700 GWP. Although values were inflated by items from Lucia Magnani or Valmont.
Speaking of which, from last year’s autumn GWP I still have unopened stuff, including the whole set from Valmont (I was soo looking forward to trying it, and look at me, keeping it in the original sack cause I don’t even have enough space).
HN also uses Global-e for international shipping and price localization, you can tell price differences (apart from stock, less beauty is available outside of the UK, not only hazmat)

  2. I think only Liberty and SpaceNK GWPs are yet to be out, but with Liberty I remain offended by the converted pricing and the response I got, so I think I will simply stop buying there altogether. Not that I was an avid customer to begin with anyway.

    1. Well Liberty does not ship their gifts internationally so it is pretty much a moot point. Their conversion is horrible indeed though. Quite sad to see that, but their focus has always been the UK market and UK consumer.

  3. Yeah, with parcel forwarding, taxes, duties, fees etc it stops to be a good value offer indeed. I don’t think there’s anything I would want to have so much I’d be happy to pay double VAT for
