SkinCity Beauty Advent Calendar – reduced to €119

For those who are new, but even for those who have been following along for less than a year, you might not know what the rest do – I am a huge fan of SkinCity and their beauty advent calendars. My first ever purchase from Skin City was a beauty advent calendar and the amazing service and range of products made me go back to them time and time again. It is safe to say that I was beyond excited when I saw the launch of this new edition of the advent calendar, however also nervous. When you have such high hopes for something, it is a bit nerve-wracking as it is easy to end up being disappointed. So which one will it be?

Comments on the SkinCity Beauty Advent Calendar 2011 edition

Before discussing the calendar in more detail, you might want to have a look at this post on my experience shopping with SkinCity. Some things might be slightly different now, but as an indication of what you should expect the article should serve you well still.

Now, onto the SkinCity Beauty Advent Calendar 2021 edition 🙂

The very first thing that I have to comment on is the change of the box. So far, SkinCity offered a huge makeup storage bag as the casing for the advent calendar and this time around, it is an actual box similar to the ones we have gotten accustomed to. However, it is not the same – the design was created by a celebrated artist (Veronica Ballart Lilja) and the box contains 12 drawers you can pull out on either side with each containing 2 pouches.

Now regarding the contents, one can notice about this calendar from Skin City is that there are no surprises when it comes to the brands included. Not only are the brands a prominent feature on the retailer’s website, but they are pretty much the same brands as we have seen include in the previous two editions of this advent calendar.

Product-wise, the products are different, but there are quite a few from the same ranges as in previous years. However, as long as they are not exactly the same, personally, I am happy. My favorite product from this advent calendar though is the Dr Levy Eye Booster Concentrate. This is a highly effective, super expensive eye serum that works wonders on fine lines. It has to be the best eye care products I have tried so far.

I do not have any more specific product comments, but overall as a haul, they seem amazing. The selection is pretty balanced and the limited inclusion of makeup is also a plus as far as I am concerned, even though most SkinCity makeup is more of a hybrid between makeup and skincare… I am not going nuts over this beauty advent calendar, but it falls in line with expectations.

What do you think of the new SkinCity Advent Calendar?

  1. Ah, I feel disappointed, because I don’t think I’ve been so far using any of the products from the calendar and I paid full price:(

  2. You’re right, last year it was gone in 2 days and I was super disappointed too
    Ah, always a gamble 😉

  3. I am! The food one from Fortnum’s brings the most joy. The jewellery one arrived only yesterday so it’s a bit disappointing but so far the content is really nice (I have an idea what’s in there, so I expect I’ll like it)
    What about you?

    1. Hmm. Mostly yes. I like the Miin one as it is introducing me to new k beauty brands. The NaP is a bit disappointing but maybe my expectations were a bit higher than they should have been. I do hope that the high value items that I never would have purchased on my own will change my mind though. I am honestly much happier with my BF purchases this year than the calendars 🥺 (post(s) coming soon)

Glad you are enjoying the calendars, particularly the FM which you struggled to get 🤗 It does sound like an amazing calendar.

Strange that Paul Valentine took so long to get delivered 😐 you ordered it a while ago

  4. Hahaha yeah, to get the FM calendar was almost like a heist movie plot.
PV apologized, said they worked together with an organisation that supports activisation of people with disabilities to assemble the calendars, and a lot of people got sick with covid, hence the delays. I was already displeased with PV, but reading this message from them, I felt even more pleased to have made the purchase, and because so far I really like what’s in the calendar, I may buy it next year too. Although at some point I will need just this much jewellery
