SkinCity UK Beauty Advent Calendar Review

I know that I already talked about my first experience shopping at SkinCity UK (if you want you can read more about that here), but I still have to talk about the one thing I actually purchased.

I still maintain that shopping in a new place, especially an online one can be scary and worrisome, but some products are just worth the risk, you know? For me, the beauty advent calendar was a no brainer. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it. I did not even know what the contents of the calendar would be as the list was not advertised. However, the calendar seemed so different from anything else on the market. How was I able the tell if the contents were not public? Easy. The profile of the store indicated as much.

Now let’s see what the calendar is all about shell we?

SkinCity UK Beauty Advent Calendar Review

The calendar was delivered in a white simple and well made box with no logo on it. The calendar was delivered in perhaps less than 24 hours after placing the order and this was done at no extra cost to me. I truly appreciated the fast delivery!

Calendar Box

Unlike other beauty advent calendars, the SkinCity calendar did not actually house its contents in a box. The Skin City Beauty Advent Calendar came in a huge organiser type bag. I think this was a nice touch as you can reuse the bag, plus it is bit enough to store an entire makeup kit if you are a makeup artist, but you can also use it to organise something else entirely. It is almost the size of a carry on bag. Almost.

The products are housed in little pouches with numbers on them. That is a cute touch as you can create your own advent calendar afterwards or even give it away as a gift. There are some cute DIY ideas out there which I recommend you look up.

Now I know that the list has not been made public so if you do not want to find out the contents, then you should avoid reading the following part. If you want to find out what the Skin City Beauty Advent Calendar contains then read on.

In addition to the beauty products, there was also a Kokeshi included. The Japanese doll is a limited edition created specifically for this beauty advent calendar. I believe this is a very nice gesture.

In terms of contents, I am super happy actually. I had a feeling I would be. The products included are not necessarily big, some are really small but the calendar is full of products containing active ingredients. If I am being honest, this calendar from SkinCity is full of products and brands for that matter that I never heard of before. This is what makes the calendar so great. The calendar is a curated collection of research based skincare products that you don’t come across everyday. This is an amazing opportunity to improve my skincare routine, introduce some new products and also write some reviews.

The calendar was prices at £125 for the UK and the value is around double that.

Where can you buy the Skin City Beauty Advent Calendar?

The calendar is sadly sold out in the UK, however it might be available at your local SkinCity.

Despite the size of some of the products and the significantly smaller value than that of the other calendars I reviewed, I am super excited to play with this one. This calendar from SkinCity just proves that nice and interesting does not necessarily need to be expensive. Overall, this is a calendar that you should keep your eyes open for next year. Definitely something worth repurchasing. No regrets whatsoever here.
