Today I want to talk to you about the Clinique Take the Day off Cleansing Balm. Fun fact: this is the first empty from February for the beauty ban, but also the first ever Clinique product I managed to finish. Sure, it was a mini, but it still counts!
Clinique Take the Day off Cleansing Balm Review
When I think Clinique, I always think of that scene in the Devil Wears Prada where Andy’s friend reached over the table to grab a set of Clinique products and she is super excited to get her hands on them. That is not me, it never was.
I grew up thinking that Clinique was this super luxurious and expensive brand that will take a long time to be able to afford. Can you blame? I was super young. However, not only the brand is not that expensive when compared to some other brands on the market, but it is also no longer my so called goal in terms of beauty. Even after realising that I could get to try products from the brand, I never really reached out for them. So finishing a product from Clinique is definitely a major thing for me. I usually just pass as I don’t find the product at all attractive.
Anyway, this is my short story regarding Clinique. You know me, I always have a story, but what is the cleansing balm really like?
The short story is that I liked it. The take the Day Off Cleansing Balm is good, but not super impressive.
The cleansing balm melts quite easily on the face, but not as easy as others. You can still apply it without too much trouble. I know this is just a detail, but when there are alternatives every single thing matters and it should matter. I am being picky, but can you really blame me? Why spend your money on something when you could get soothing instead that is better or better and cheaper?
Okay, so the cleansing balm is not one that simply melts onto the skin. You need to massage it quite a bit, but you can then easily get it all over your face.
Okay, so there are some kinks when it comes to application, but does it work?
I found that the Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm does indeed do a good job at removing your makeup; it does indeed “take the day off”. As far as effectiveness, I do not really have any complaints.
The Clinique balm cleanser is a practical product. It is incredibly say to remove makeup and it does not even require a lot of water. I prefer to use it with a cloth so this is perfect for those who are often too lazy to take makeup off or are then worried they will wake up using too much water. I am definitely in that category so I am always on the lookout for something that helps me remove my makeup at night without waking me up. I also need something that is easy to use and this is definitely it.
That being said, all there is left to address is how does this cleanser leave the skin feeling. Hmm, this is kinda hard to answer, but I have to say that the cleanser feels nice on the skin and it does leave the skin feeling alright. The cleanser does not strip the skin, but I cannot say that this is the most moisturising product.
Overall, I actually liked the Clinique Take the Day Off Balm Cleanser and I do recommend it. However, keep in mind that there are a few things that are not as amazing such as the way it leaves the skin feeling and the ability to spread it out without warming it first or adding a but of water.
