Wow, I think it’s the first time a calendar from John Lewis got my attention. They also used to be cheaper, no?
Nars blush not in ‘Orgasm’ and The Rich Cream. What a shock for a high end calendar;) I really like the offer. The CT quad is in a shade that usually doesn’t make it in sets, as well as many other products that are hard to come by, like this full size Susanne Kaufmann mask (I haven’t tried but I liked every product from the brand so I have high hopes for this one). The Frederic Malle perfume adds to the luxury aspect. So nice.
I don’t think it will ship internationally, but if it does, I think I’ll skip. The CT eyeshadow won’t look flattering on me (red eyeshadow makes me look sick) even though the lipstick in this shade looks very nice on me. I’m also not a fan of the FM fragrance, but I applaud the inclusion of it. Also not interested in many of the other highlights of the calendar, but I totally appreciate the selection.
Yes, it used to be cheaper: John Lewis is vastly different from other retailers from the way they operate to the products they carry which is probably why their selection for this calendar is different.
I assume the price increase both to their own financial difficulties but also inflation
The calendar also appears more luxurious this year which I assume also factored in to the price. Still it’s the cheapest among the other luxury calendars priced between £220-£270.
Would you consider buying it if it’s available?
No but not because I do not like it. I am not sure if I am getting any calendars this year. I am trying to get rid of most of my beauty products especially as their numbers is well significant (1000s) and particularly since half my collection is still not where I am at…
The most tempted I am is by the Net a Porter but also the YeaStyle one. It depends on how much they end up costing though. I had too any costs lately and want to get yet another expensive “toy” plus have yet to recover part of the savings I spent in London earlier this year and planning another trip for next year. Lots of factors to consider 😀
Maybe as it gets colder outside I will change my mind but as of now when my routine is still minimal, I don’t see the space for calendars in my life this year
My stash is around 350 items including perfume but not perfume samples. I did give away around 100 items this year and there’s still more that will be gifted for Christmas (I really don’t need to buy anything because I’ve got stuff for various needs and tastes of my friends).
You know, I was thinking the same thing today, that maybe I’ll end up buying nothing (apart from the perfume sample calendar I already bought), despite being so curious and diligently following the offers and complaining about shipping, exchange rate and whatnot, for the same reason as you: I’ve got too many things so might be better to wait until I really have room and can use stuff within the next couple of months rather than a year or two when its close to expiration, and I’ve got stuff to spend money on.
What ‘toy’ you want yo buy? (If it’s OK to disclose)
