Innisfree Orchid Enriched Cream
When I first picked up this product, I have to say that I was not familiar with the brand. Sure, I had seen it in Sephora for a while and knew about it, but up to that point, I had not tried anything from then nor read any reviews. I was as new to the product as well as the brand as some of you might be just now. Since I had no idea what to expect, I had no expectations, well not more than those generated by the fact that this is a K-Beauty moisturizer, and for those who are new here or might not know this, I am a huge fan of K-Beauty.
My experience with the Innisfree Orchid Enriched Cream
My first impressions of this product from Innisfree were far from good. The moisturizer not only comes in a jar which I do not tend to like. And as you might know, I am not a fan of jar packaging for skincare products as they are often unhygienic ( bacteria love warm and moist environments) and not very travel-friendly.
On top of that, this particular cream is one of those creams that have a strange texture and it is one of those products that bounces back into shape. It is like sticking your figure into a jelly or gelatine and then the whole vanishes after a few hours and the product regains its shape. It is a cool phenomenon to some extent, but rarely does such a product work for me when it comes to skincare. I was certain that this moisturizer from Innisfree was a major flop.
Not only that, but the product felt a tad weird on my skin as well. However, since I spent some money on this particular product, I kept on insisting and I am so glad that I did. It took some getting used to, but this product I was so ready to give up on after a couple of uses is now one of my favorite moisturizers and a product I look forward to buying again.
The pros and cons of the Innisfree Orchid Enriched Cream
One of the biggest selling points of the Innisfree Orchid Enriched Cream is its ingredients. This rather luxurious cream from Innisfree is made with Jeju orchids, which are recognized for their anti-aging features. The cream also contains hyaluronic acid and Jeju soybean peptides, which help to firm, smooth, nourish, and brighten the appearance of the skin. And that is exactly what they do.
After a few weeks of using this product, my skin looked and felt softer, smoother, and more hydrated. Not only that but this cream from Innisfree also helped reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (minimal effect though). I was quite surprised by how well this cream worked as I did not have high hopes for it in the beginning. The most visible effect besides the plumpness of the skin caused by the hyaluronic acid I would assume is the improvement in the firmness of the skin.
The cons of the Innisfree Orchid Enriched Cream are few but worth mentioning. The first thing is, of course, the packaging. I do not like jar packaging for my skincare products as I mentioned before, but this is a personal preference, and some people might not mind it (you can use a scooper though). The second thing is the fact that it might not work for every skin type. The cream itself is recommended for those with dry and normal skin. On one hand, I agree with this as the cream is on the thick side but differently than a rich cream (I should make that clear) and its rather odd texture does not help matters either, but for me it did work.
It is not often that a cream recommended for those with dry or normal skin works for me, particularly if thick, but it does happen. I am glad that this one worked as the moisturizer not only absorbed well into the skin but produced the above-mentioned results and left my skin looking really nice and glowy.
Would I buy it again? Yes, I would as I am very happy with the results it produced. It even made me try more products from Innisfree!
So, all in all, I would say that this is a great cream and one that I can recommend if you are looking for an anti-aging cream that actually does something, but does not cost a fortune.
