Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment

Glam Glow Supermud clearing treatment review

Hi, I am back! It seems like forever, but in fact, for the first time in my life most likely, I can say that it hasn’t been that long! Now I want to tell you a few things about the first product included in the Revolve Beauty Advent Calendar. The product I want to talk about is the Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment.

I have quite a bit of experience with this product, but I don’t think I ever told you about it. I first tried it from a beauty advent calendar from years ago and used it sporadically ever since. I did go through period when I used it more than others – I purchased a full sized jar… But before we get into that, let’s talk a bit more about the product, what it does, whether it actually works and most importantly whether you need it.

Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment Review

The Glam Glow Spermud Clearing Treatment has to be one of the most well known products from the brand. When you think Glam Glow, this should be the product that comes to mind. It was quite popular, especially a few years ago.

Like mentioned above, I got it from an advent calendar and decided to give it a shot. I had no idea what to expect. First of all, the Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment is a face mask. It is a charcoal face mask to be more specific. The mask is intended to help clear your skin by clearing out your pores, unclogging them and preventing the appearance of clogged pores. That sounded so stupid, or is it just me? Let’s try that again. The Supermud Clearing Treatment is a face mask that should help you achieve clear skin. I am going to stop here before I make a fool out of myself.

The mask is easy to use. You just apply it and wait for it to dry. You apply it as you would any other mask. Personally, I suggest using one of those “apparently” useless silicone makeup sponges. They are easy to clean, definitely easier than you fingers.

You might feel a tingling while you have the mask on; some people have reported finding the feeling unbearable in some cases of sensitive skin. I found it okay, but definitely not super comfortable either. It is not the kind of product you use when you want to kick back and relax. As it dries, you can see some small spots where “cleared pores” are. It looks pretty interesting actually, but not that different compared to other masks. Just a weird thing i find fascinating. However once fully dried, you skin might feel tight and the mask is nearly impossible to wash off. Okay, that is an exaggeration, but it does take some time and it sucks. I tried several methods of removing the product and a flannel cloth is the best in my opinion, however it ruins the cloth. I also tried “specialised” sponges and they didn’t do much.

Okay, so that was a bit about application and about my experience with the mask. But does it work? Now that is the question. Surprisingly, it does. This freaking mask actually works. Your skin is left significantly more clear and you can say goodbye to most of your black-heads. I loved the effects. My skin was significantly more clear while using this mask and I had less breakouts. However, the things is that it does make the skin slightly uncomfortable and it is hard to remove.

Another thing before concluding this review is that the mask is fragranced. You can sense a strong peter-mint like fragrance which is not bothersome, but it definitely does not pass unnoticed.

Overall, I do like this mask from Glam Glow quite a bit and do recommend it (sort of), but I advise caution. If you have sensitive skin, then stay away. Don’t bother. Maybe apply it near/on spots or just patch try it if you have a sample, but don’t spend you money on a full sized version. If you have oily skin, then you will most likely benefit the most from this product. Despite sort of recommending this product, I do want to also mention that there are dupes out there that provide similar results and that are much easier to wash off.
