The Harrods Beauty Advent Calendar 2019 is not one that I thought I would buy. I really did not. This was not an impulse buy either. Actually it was something my mom wanted to get so now here I am, reviewing the Harrods Beauty Advent Calendar.
The 2019 edition of the Harrods beauty advent calendar is not the first one that I ever purchased. However, it is not a calendar that I buy every year and you will see below why that is.
Anyway, here is what I thought of the 2019 edition of the Harrods beauty advent calendar.
Harrods Beauty advent Calendar Review
Delivery & Packaging
The Harrods beauty advent calendar was delivered promptly and in a box that was the same size with the one of the calendar. Unlike in previous years, I no longer received a box the size of an old fashion TV filled with bubble wrap. I really appreciated that. Personally, I would have preferred a simple box with no logos, but it was still better than before. The last time I ordered one such calendar, the box had the word Harrods written on it around 200 times. This one had just a couple such writings, but it is still enough to catch someone’s attention. However, it is an improvement so do keep this in mind when or if you order the calendar. I know that in some areas it matters more than in others.
Calendar Box
The calendar comes in a study cardboard box which has 25 little drawers inside that house the products. The box is really well made, just like you would expect where Harrods in concerned.
Unlike previous editions, the calendar comes in a navy box and not white. I guess this makes the calendar seem more manly or to appeal to the male demographic as well. The reason why I assume this is because of the little pouches the products are in. Each of the drawers contains a pouch in which the product is found. The pouches were made of a rougher to the touch fabric (some sort of linen), unlike the velvety fabric that was used in the past. Personally, I found this a tad disappointing. I would have preferred that fabric, even if in navy.
These are just details, I know that. However, when you buy a product from a store such as Harrods you buy into the whole experience and not just the product. Plus, you even pay for it!
Anyway, the calendar box is as study and reliable as the ones used in the past. This is actually great as that means you can reuse them for a long time. I still have the calendar box I got two years ago and use it to store my minis. I have no doubt that I’ll hold onto this one as well.

Above you have the entire list of contents. As you can see, the list is not bad, not bad at all if we are being honest. The Harrods Beauty Advent Calendar is filled with products from brands that I never heard of or brands that I would not even consider buying due to their exorbitant prices. That is actually a point in their favour as it gives me an opportunity to try the products out without spending hundreds of pounds just to discover that they might not actually work for me.
Furthermore, unlike other calendars on the market, the Harrods calendar is filled with super luxurious products. That was to be expected, no? So it kinda goes without saying, but I had to say anyway so that there are no misunderstandings (*wink).
However, the most striking thing about the calendar is that unlike others, the Harrods calendar seems to cater more to an older demographic than the other calendars. This calendar contains some pretty potent stuff. That has been the case in the past as well.
Overall, I love the Harrods Beauty Advent Calendar, but once again this is not something I necessary see myself needing to have. Sure, there are some pretty fantastic products inside, but not necessary ones that will become a priority for me buy at my age (mid-twenties) no matter how much I will end up liking them. On the other hand, the calendar is not just a product, but it is an entire experience. There is that.
The Harrods Beauty Advent Calendar is something nice to have. However, it is undoubtedly a luxury. For this reason, I don’t really want to use the word ‘recommend’ when it comes to whether you should buy it or not. All I can say is that if you want it then go for it, but also keep in mind that there are many other calendars available and many gift sets out there or soon to be released.
