One of the reasons why I liked the Glossy Box Beauty Advent Calendar so much is because of the products from brands that I have never seen, heard or tried before. One such product is the one I want to talk about today, the 23rd product included in the GlossyBox advent calendar, the Steve Laurant Lip Tint in Cherry.
Steve Laurant Beauty Lip Tint Review
Before moving on with this review I want to mention the fact that the box of the product says ‘lip gloss’ rather than ‘lip tint’. However, I checked the website and the product I am going to talk about is definitely the lip tint.
The Steve Laurant Beauty Lip Tint comes is a tiny, cute pot. I am not sure about you, but I am not a fan of products in which you get to stick your fingers in. I particularly dislike that when it comes to products that go on the lips. Lipstick, balm or whatever is not something we necessarily apply in the bathroom once our hands are super clean, I mean there is the odd occasion when I apply such products in the car or sneakily in the lift. Is that just me? For that reason, such products are not practical as far was I am concerned as I would not stick my fingers in the pot without ensuring they are clean. Okay, now this was a weird, long and perhaps even unnecessary conversation, but I hope you get where I am coming from. The idea is that I was not super excited about the pot even though it is really cute. I kinda got over it.
The reason why I was able to overlook the pot situation is because of the colour and the way it looks on the lips. The colour is a beautiful light cherry red. It is not a colour that stands out as much as you might think. In fact, it looks like I just bit my lips for a prolonged period of time. It is that kind of red, unless you want to describe it as a post makeout red. It is really beautiful and kinda sexy, but not an ‘in your face’ kind a of way.
In addition to the pretty colour, there is also the way it actually looks on the lips. The lip tint from Steve Laurant is borderline matte. There is a bit of a glossy situation going on, but it is nothing like an actual gloss. It is like a matte gloss, if that even makes sense. The idea is that it looks way better than a matte that dries out and starts to crack. It is like a smudge really, I think this is the best way to describe it.
As for the stay power, the lip tint is quite long staying which is great. It does come off a bit easier than the regular lip tint, but still, it does stay on for a while. It does tend to come off with drinks or food.
Overall, I am kinda impressed with the little pot of lip tint from Steve Laurant. I did not know about this brand before I first seen it in the Glossy Box Beauty Advent Calendar, but now I really want to learn more. The product is super cute and something I want to try more of. I recommend you give it a try!
