Pixi Glow Tonic To-Go Pads

Today we are going to discuss the Pixi Glow Tonic To Go which has been part of the Selfridges Beauty Bag that came out late last year.

I am all too familiar with Glow Tonic from Pixi as I have been using it for years. In fact, that product was most likely my first ever product from Pixi. And even though I am bad at reviewing things on time, I am not THAT bad. So if you have never used the product before then I recommend you first read the article on the tonic before returning to this one which will address how the product behaves in a different format rather than go once again into all the details. Makes sense, right?

I thought about summarising the tonic here, but that just won’t do. The Pixi Glow Tonic is not a product you can just summarise as there are quite a few things that are worth mentioning and understanding in full is key.

Okay, so now that I explained my reasoning, let’s discuss the actual product.

Glow Tonic To-Go Pads from Pixi by Petra Review

There are more and more brands coming out with pads which is nice on one hand as they can be very travel friendly and convenient for lazy people (I consider myself lazy, especially after a long day at work), however they can also be considered not as eco friendly as some of you might be using reusable cotton rounds instead of disposable ones.

Okay, there is one point I felt the need to make. Let’s not hide or beat around the bush. Such pads are really not eco friendly no matter how convenient they are.

On the other hand, this pad format is perfect for when on the go. So when you are travelling, you can take the glow tonic with you without worrying about the bottle cracking and messing up all your stuff. I actually prefer it this way. You also don’t need to take cotton rounds with you on your trip. The least products, the better.

So as you can see, there are some advantages and disadvantages already. But do the pads actually work? Are they any good?

Well, the quality of the pads is not the best I have ever seen nor it is as good as that of the rounds I use, but it is alright. The pad itself is soft enough, albeit thin and while there is some mechanical exfoliation because of the pattern on the round, it is still very gentle on the skin. The product imbibed in the pads is exactly the same as the one we have become accustomed to. I have not noticed any difference which is why I recommend you read the article on the actual tonic.

Overall, I kinda like the pads as they are super convenient, but they are not a product that I would buy everyday. I am saving my jar for when on the go as it really has no place in my day to day life, not when there are bottles available. Bottles last longer in my opinion as I can get more use out of them than I do from the pads.

A comes with 60 pads.
