Hello. I am just popping by with this short and sweet offer from LookFantastic. For the first time ever, as far as I recall anyways, LookFantastic decided to release a limited edition beauty box that focuses on fragrance. Yes, you read that right. I always wondered why these weren’t a thing and why no big retailer ever attempted them before. Sure, Cohorted had a tentative years back, but they only released like three or four boxes before discontinuing the service. It wasn’t anything worth remembering, even though I still have the box I got my fragrances in….Safe to say, I got more use of that box than I did of any of its contents. Is that going to be the case here? Let’s have a look.

Where to start? Where to start? I haven’t tried all the fragrances (haven’t used Mugler) in here so I might be wrong on this one, but the fragrances included are pretty much on the sweet, floral gourmand side. If that is not your thing then you might not enjoy them as much. The fragrances are elegant and they do not smell cheap, they are not the sickeningly type of sweet, but they are not fresh by any means. I just wanted to put that out here in case some of you really do not enjoy anything other than fresh fragrances.
The one thing I did notice is that the strength of these perfumes increases from one perfume to the next. As such you get to go from something less strong and more discrete (Lancôme) to something that can be considered quite heavy by some (YSL). Not only does this box allow you to discover your tolerance, if you will, but gives you something perfect for day wear and night wear as well. Personally, I like using some of these fragrances (i.e Lancôme ) during the spring/summer months while I reach for my YSL or Viktor & Rolf duding the colder months when I am still wearing a coat. They are the coat type of fragrances or night time type of fragrances. This is my preference at least.
I won’t go describing each and every fragrance here as I haven’t worn them all in a while and I feel like I would not to them justice. I can say though that the YSL one is my favourite and it is a fragrance I keep going back to, it is one of the few non-boutique fragrances in its price range that I sill purchase every once in a while. I just love how decadent it is, how it grabs the attention, how it makes you noticeable without being too much. On me at least, the fragrances settles quite nicely, but this is a great opportunity to see whether you would like it as well.
The box is expensive. I never expected the price tag. Mid £30 would have been more than enough, the voucher does make it worth it though. However, that is only if you do end up purchasing a full size version of any of these perfumes.
I am obviously going to skip this specific box as I have owned all the fragrances at some point and the last thing I need is to purchase more, however I would love to see more of these as there are so many fragrance out there that I do wish to try. Trying something on in a store is one thing, but having the opportunity to wear the fragrance for a week or so is a completely different thing. Good idea on behalf of LookFantastic, now keep them coming!
