NCLA Beauty Hey Sugar Body Scrub Review

Hello you. I am trying something new today. Does it work or should I stick to the usual awkward intro? Anyway, hello. Thank you for stopping by yet again to read my ramblings. Today, I want to talk to you about a product that I have been meaning to try ever since it came out. Not sure what it is about NCLA Beauty, but I am curious to try all their products… the first item I had from them was a pink nail Polish and this was way before the brand started offering other kind of products. Back then, the blog was not that easily accessible on this side of the pond. Maybe that played a factor? We always seem to want what we cannot have?

So yes, I have been meaning to try the Hey Sugar Body Exfoliating Scrub ever since it launched. I did end up waiting for a while until I finally got to try, but the Cult Beauty Goody Bag from a couple of months ago did provide the incentive to finally grab this scrub as well. I had no more excuses not to basically.

NCLA Beauty Hey Sugar Peach Exfoliating Body Scrub

The first thing I noticed about the scrub from NCLA Beauty was the packaging. If you though the jar looked pretty online, it is even prettier in person. In addition, the box is pretty cute as well. It is actually the first piece of outer packaging in 15 months that I decided to keep. You might already know that stuff that cannot be sanitized makes me super uncomfortable these days. However, this one just called to me and I did wipe with sanitizer a tiny bit….yes, I am crazy like that.

I got the peach scrub and was totally expected to sense the peach fragrance. The peach fragrance is there, but also an oil one. A not quite rancid oil one. That was shocking and super disappointing. I did not feel it at the first sniff as strong, but the second time you could tell it was incredibly noticeable. Despite this fact, I decided to give the product a try as I wanted it for so long and it was new so there was no reason to believe there was something wrong about even if the smell was a bit off.

I am glad that I did try it as I ended up loving it. The Hey Sugar body scrub from NCLA Beauty is amazing pretty amazing. Once I saw the texture and combined with that oil like scent I caught, I was worried it was going to be one of those, you know which ones, the kind that needs you to scrub the tub or shower floor thoroughly after use, the kind that leaves an oil residue behind. It was not the case to my complete surprise. The scrub is very sugary thus the name (duh) and as such it dissolves same as sugar. It can be a bit rough on the skin at first, but it softens quickly.

Leaving the scent aside, this scrub made it to the top of my preferences where such products are concerned. I highly recommend giving the NCLA Hey Sugar Beauty Exfoliating Body Scrub a try. It is a bit on the pricey side, but it is worthy if you don’t mind splurging a little bit.

**If there are more mistakes than usual, I apologise. I wrote this while up in the air (don’t worry, I haven’t gone anywhere exciting – just to switch off a light in my flat….sounds a bit stupid when you put it like that, but that is basically the gist of it). Also, I spent the entire day trying to organise and sanitise very surface. I obviously failed and now I can barely keep my eyes open. I should have postponed this, but felt like it was time to share as otherwise I would have only delayed it even more if not.
