While January goody bags are notoriously boring, I did expect something more. Cult Beauty has improved quite a bit in latest months to my complete surprise and since they are so keen on development, I hoped that they would come out with something a bit more impressive. Sure, their offering aka the 2022 Essentials Goody Bag is way better than the gifts with purchase recently released by close competitors, but it just does not scream “buy me”.

On the other hand, the name of this goody bag is 100% fitting. I do believe that this goody bag contains a bit of everything you could possibly need so “the essentials”. That is a point in CB’s favour IMO. As for the contents themselves, well some of the items we have definitely seen before and not that long ago or rather, not long enough ago. That is a shame, especially since there are so many new and exciting beauty brands that launched at Cult Beauty since the last goody bag.

My absolute favourite produce from this Goody Bag is the Nars Afterglow Lip Balm. That is next level cute and sexy at the same time and just the right perfect for your lips. It is a hydrating product, but it also gives the lips an extra something, if you know what I mean.

As for Patchology and Frank Body, well I don’t really get along with either brand, but it might be just me being extremely picky or that the products simply do not work for me and for my skin type. If you have tried the products, do share your thoughts below.

Overall, the 2022 Essentials Goody Bag is definitely not the best goody bag you will see this year, not from Cult Beauty or other retailers. It is a good option if you were planning to test out all these new goodies released by Cult Beauty, such as BYOMA and are not patient enough to wait until the next one.
