Comments

There must be something wrong with me as my enthusiasm levels are at a minimum as far as the latest beauty offers are concerned. This occasion is not that different. While I can see that there are some interesting products included here, particularly the one from Royal Fern, I am not crazy about this new beauty kit. I like the idea, but the execution is nothing to write home about IMO.

No, I have not tried the Royal Fern cream included in this kit before, but I have tried another one of their products – the Essence – and I loved it. The brand has high potential and I am interested in trying more from their range.

Now, let’s talk a bit about the products I did try.

First, we have the Dr. Sebagh Vitamin C Powder Cream.

Dr. Sebagh is one of my favorite skincare brands, period. I love quite a few of his products and am always interested in finding new gems. My absolute favorite product from the brand in case you were wondering is the Serum Repair. The Serum Repair is an incredible HA serum that did wonders for my pores and hydration levels. You can read more about it here.

But let’s get back on track.

So the Vitamin C Powder Cream is an interesting concept. You take some of the powder and mix it with your favorite moisturizer. You get several uses from a tube, but not too many that it would make the product a hindrance when traveling. If you are away for more than a few days, then the product is absolutely perfect. It is small and you can use it up so no need to bring it back home with you. Sure, it would be a great plus for the product except for the fact that a tube of this Vitamin C would not take up space anyway. On a more serious note though, I like this product and yet I do not. This Vitamin C is not the best such product I ever used. However, I rarely get along with Vitamin C serums and whatnot. In this format and by mixing it with my moisturiser, my skin seems more agreeable to the idea of applying the ingredient to my face. But, once again, is not my favourite Vitamin C product from the ones I CAN use.

The Vitamin C Powder Cream from Dr Sebagh is relatively easy to mix in the palm of your hand so no worries there. You do not need any special tools. Clean hans is all you need. Regardless of my personal, mixed feelings about this product, the Vitamin C Powder from Sebagh is a great addition to this kit, especially for those who have yet to try it.

The next product I want to address is the Dr Barbara Sturm Glow Drops. It took me a while to get into Dr. Barbara Sturm products. At first, I disliked all of them but I guess my preferences changed or I started using more full-sized products which seemed different than the minis. I don’t really know what happened there. However, after having reached for quite a few products that I did like, I gave the Glow Drops a try as well. Safe to say, my experience was really different with this product. Unlike the Caudalie brightening serum which you might be familiar with, this one from Br Barbara Sturm is thicker. It is more like a lotion than a serum (personally, I would say it is more like paint but let’s not be rude). On its own, this is not a product that I got along well with. The texture, the smell even, the way it feels on the skin is just not for me. However, by boring the idea from the Vitamin C Powder Cream by Dr Sebagh, I tried mixing this product with my moisturiser as well. The results were a tad bit better. It is not my favourite “glow” product out there, but it has significantly more potential this way.

This is about it for me.

Overall, the Net-a-Porter Doctor’s Beauty Kit is an interesting choice and a good offer to take up, but only if you are genuinely interested in the products included. If you are not, do yourself a favour and skip it. There are many other such beauty offers available and even NaP will surely release more beauty kits in the future. Get the offers that give you some excitement, make you happy and skip the ones that don’t.
