Liberty London Advent Calendar 2023 Comments

A wave of nostalgia washes over me as I think of the Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar, the first luxury advent calendar I ever purchased. It was a moment of indulgence, a treat to myself that marked the beginning of my journey into the world of high-end beauty products.

Today, I find myself reminiscing about those times, not just because of the memories attached but because of the significant transformation the calendar has undergone this year. For the first time since its launch, the Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar has taken on a new appearance, making it even more enticing and exciting for beauty aficionados like us.

Now, let’s talk a bit about the contents.

Let’s start with some standouts. The full-sized 111SKIN Celestial Black Diamond Eye Mask is a luxury in itself, promising to rejuvenate your under-eye area. Similarly, the Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Roller Ball is perfect for those stressful holiday moments, offering a calming scent to help you unwind.
On the skincare front, the calendar includes the coveted Augustinus Bader The Cream in travel size, which is a treat for any skincare enthusiast. However, it’s worth noting that due to its potent formula, it might not suit everyone, particularly those with sensitive skin. Additionally, this is a product you do not want to keep for long, especially if opened as it tends to go bad fast.

For hair care lovers, there’s the Charlotte Mensah Manketti Hair Oil and the Davines OI Shampoo, both in travel sizes. These high-quality products are great for maintaining healthy hair during the winter season. The Davines Oi Shampoo is one of the most amazing shampoos out there. I am obsessed with this one and can’t believe it is not more popular. It leaves hair super soft, but not flat. That is key, especially if your hair is as fine as mine. This shampoo helps me achieve glossy locks, that are soft to the touch, smell incredible and helps me achieve super volume. No additional products needed.

The Byredo Lipstick in Solid Ground or Commuter, a full-sized product, is a delightful addition for makeup lovers. But bear in mind, the shades may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Now, onto some drawbacks. While the advent calendar offers fantastic value overall, some might find the inclusion of non-beauty items like the Estella Bartlett Stars So Bright Gold Plated Bracelet and the Liberty Pocket Mirror somewhat offbeat in a beauty-focused calendar. These items, though lovely, may not appeal to everyone.

Also, while the Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar has a mix of full and travel-sized products, some might prefer a greater number of full-sized items given the price point.

All in all, the Liberty Beauty Advent Calendar 2023 is a wonderful opportunity to explore premium beauty brands and experiment with new products. Its diversity in product selection and generous value make it a worthy investment. Whether you’re a seasoned beauty lover or new to the game, this calendar holds something for everyone. It’s a perfect early Christmas gift to yourself or a loved one. But remember, these calendars sell out quickly, so if it piques your interest, act fast!

I actually love the mirror and it’s one of the selling points for me. There’s just 2 products I’d give away, and I like the new packaging. Overall I really like this one. Maybe it’s a good thing I can’t preorder because I haven’t seen other calendars and I want to limit my purchases this year. Although I already see that it will be impossible to buy no calendar at all.

It’s early this year, no? I think the earliest calendar info so far has been Fortnum’s in August with a pre-order, then everything in September and October with many launch dates being in October, Liberty included. But I’m already hyped even though I thought this year the calendars will have no power over me.

Liberty was the first luxury calendar I bought too!

🙂 Yes, it is earlier than usual. Usually Fortnum and Mason is the earliest one, but not this time.

I am starting to think that this year’s calendars will be a bit better as retail took a major hit last year and this year has been quite shaky as well. Luxury department stores need to step it up big time if they wish to increase their sales and meet at least Q4 sale estimates. Most retailers had to adjust their estimates this year as they performed way below expectations.

Yeah, I think so too, that this year’s offers might be better. And I hope that in order to meet those sales quotas retailers will take into consideration international customers as well.
Ah, it might be difficult this year, if so many offers are good and accessible, what to choose and when, since despite being good offers they still might get discounted later. That’d be so disappointing! Both of us have been there already 🙁
Gosh, I’m really hyped for this year’s offers after all. So can’t wait. And even though I have too much makeup I decided that I won’t mind the brands I want to try, like Byredo here. Both colours would flatter me and it’s something I wear, so fine. I also don’t mind trinkets. I started to collect them here in France as it seems to be a frequent addition to boxes and calendars. I now have things I wouldn’t buy myself, but it’s fun to wear every now and then. So this Liberty’s calendar is totally up my alley.

🙂 In a way, I am glad that you found something that got you all excited. It seemed to me that it has been quite a while since that happened.

Yeah, it is going to be an interesting year for sure. Same as you, cannot wait to see what other bands have in store for us and fingers crossed, they keep an eye out for international customers.

  3. O

Indeed, it’s been a while (which has been good for my wallet and stash, although I’ve been several times in a situation when I simply couldn’t afford something and thus didn’t buy no matter how much I’d like something, so my wallet is not really endangered)
I hope now that Liberty will ship this internationally and won’t charge double VAT. I saw something horrific when I tried to pre-order, the price in EUR was 20% more. I wrote the customer service and got a response that international shipping destinations and price haven’t been decided yet.

🙁 I would not be surprised at it is a British brand and it will put British customers first. On one hand I get it, on the other, most customers are international whether they live in the UK or abroad.

  4. O

It’s a pity that there’s no real alternative. There’s Cult Beauty and Niche Beauty now, but they have a different vibe and selection compared to the British luxury retailers.

true. Also, I am a bit worried about CB. THG is not doing all that well and there have been many changes in management and operations… I hope they will leave CB alone no matter what happens moving forward.
