Dove Crushed Macadamia and Rice Milk Exfoliating Body Scrub

Finally! I am reviewing a drugstore product. It has been a while for sure. You probably started thinking that I don’t use any, but that is definitely not the case. I love my luxury beauty and find ways to get it for less, but that does not mean I cannot appreciate a good drugstore product. Furthermore, I always look for drugstore alternatives that are good enough to replace some of my (and yours for that matter) luxurious products.

Today I am going to talk about the Dove Crushed Macadamia and Rice Milk Exfoliating Body Scrub. If I am not mistaken, this is a pretty new product. At least I discovered it fairly recently on Superdrug and I knew I just had to have it. You know that I have been using two scrubs from Victoria Secret – the coconut oil smoothing scrub and the Charcoal one. It wasn’t that long ago, but those jars are nearly gone now and some others have ended up in the empties bin as well so it was time to try something new.

The Dove Crushed Macadamia and Rice Milk Exfoliating Body Scrub is a product I had high hopes for. I love the brand and what it stands for. However, usually their products are pretty great as well and let’s not forget affordable. What more can one want, am I right? But did it meet my expectations?

It kinda did.

The Dove Crushed Macadamia and Rice Milk Exfoliating Body Scrub has a strange texture. The product is like a whipped cream but just a tiny bit firmer. However, it is like it melts when combined with water and rubbed on the skin. This makes it pretty easy to use and quite fun as well. I feel like a kid, but I love watching the product melt and I love playing with it as well.

The scrub itself is pretty soft and the granules are not harsh on the skin. I really like that! While at times I don’t mind a good scrubbing, there is only so much the skin can take. This scrub from Dove is pretty okay for occasional use if you have sensitive skin and from my experience, it can be comfortably used every other day or so. You might be able to get away with using it daily for normal skin, but I haven’t tried that.

As for the scent, the Dove Crushed Macadamia and Rice Milk Exfoliating Body Scrub smells pretty nice. It smells like milky rice and just a bit of something extra which I am guessing are the crushed macadamia nuts. It definitely does not bother me. The scent is pretty mild as well and does not linger much, especially once you wash the product off.

The one drawback is just how fast I went through nearly the entire jar. I feel like I am using more product that I would with other scrubs. That is probably because of the creamy texture. Compared to other scrubs this one is not mostly granules. However, it is incredibly cheap as well and there are many offers going on with Dove so you can get it for less if you are lucky. I got mine 1/3 off I believe.

Overall, I did like the product and I would buy it again. I love the way it feels. The product does what it is supposed to. It is nothing fancy, but it smells nice, it feels nice and most of all it leaves the skin feeling smooth and even a bit hydrated. It is exactly what I need on a regular basis.
