Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer

This morning I saw myself forced to post about my latest experience with Cult Beauty. That article was not what I had intended to write today, not by a long shot. Today I wanted to talk about one of my favourite brands and that is Glow Recipe.

If you don’t know who they are, you definitely need to check them out. Their story is pretty amazing and it included even a stop on the ‘Shark Tank’ reality TV series from the US. As someone with a background in business, I have to say that their pitch was pretty  impressive, especially compared to some other ones. I would have invested in their products and not because of their pretty packaging, but also because of their team and selling abilities. However that might be what makes them pretty great form a business point of view, but to me as a consumer what counts are the actual products they create.

Around a year ago, in fact when the Cult Beauty goody bag from around this time last year was released, I decided to give Glow Recipe a try. The brand had finally made its way to the UK.

I tried the Glow Recipe watermelon mask and their blueberry cleanser and I was impressed. Shortly afterwards, I wanted to get the rest of the products and to get them in full size. They were sold out. In fact they stayed sold out until early February this year. They are sold out again sadly. However given new developments, I would only buy the products from a different stockist or directly from the brand, if given the chance.

As much as I do not want to bring CB in the conversation again, they are the sole stockists of Glow Recipe in the UK as far as I know. I hope that will change soon. However, Glow Recipe has nothing to do with CB loosing my trust and thus I wanted to review the product anyway. The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer is a product worth knowing about.

The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer is an incredibly light moisturiser that works well on most if not all skin types. I have combination skin with oily and dehydrated patches and I am more than satisfied with how the product feels and acts upon my skin.

The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer does not make my skin more oily than it normally would have been, but I have to say that it does not prevent my oiliness either. Surprisingly, I have seen Asian Beauty and Asian Beauty inspired products that can pull that off. However, I do not mind in this case. The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer leaves my skin feeling moisturised and glowy. I am really into the whole glossy/wet skin look at the moment so this product is perfect for that.

I have tried using Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer even under foundation and it behaves. My foundation looks really great on top of this moisturiser and I haven’t felt the need of using a primer, like I usually do.

The one thing I both love and hate about it is the fragrance. I prefer face moisturiser and face products in general to not have any fragrance so that to avoid any potential irritation. This moisturiser is fragranced, but it smells sooo nice. Just something to keep in mind in case you decide to give it a try.

Oh and another thing that I need to mention before finish this review is that you need to be really careful with the amount you apply. If you apply a bit too much, you might find the product a bit sticky. Otherwise, it feels pretty alright to me.

Overall, the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer is a product that works really well for my skin and I do intent to continue using it. However, like I mentioned several times already, I will be looking for different stockists, shop directly from Glow Recipe or ask a friend to bring it back to me from the US. I guess I am still upset about this.

Have you tried any of Glow Recipe’s Products?
