ColourPop By The Bushel Lippie Balm

I have been in love with ColourPop for such a long time now. In fact, I think I fell in love with the brand even before I first got the chance to try it. It has been almost a year since my first order and there have been many, many more since then.

If you are interested in trying out ColourPop in the UK, read this first and also keep in mind that since then, ColourPop started charging the import taxes at checkout. This means that your total will be slightly smaller. You are no longer charged the processing and handling  fees that Royal Mail adds.

The product I want to talk about today is the By the Bushel Lippie Balm. These lippie balms came out a few months ago so they are not that recent anymore, but they are something that the brand still carries and for good reason.

I specifically mentioned the name of the lippie balm as I plan on reviewing each one individually. Each lippie balm has a different flavour so they deserve individual attention.

The By The Bushel lippie balm has a pink-ish tint, as the tube suggests. The tint is not overpowering, but the lippie balm from ColourPop is definitely not clear. You can see the tint if you pay attention, but it is not an in your face sort of thing.

The product feels pretty thick on the lips and it is a bit sticky, but to me it feel more gummy than anything else. I tend to avoid sticky lip products and this one I actually love the texture of. After a few seconds the stickiness tends to disappear and I am left with a gummy upper lip and a gummy lower lip. It is a bit strange at first to get used to the new sensation, but I actually love the way it feels. It also feels nice when you attempt to lick your lips and the product stays on. I know gross, but we all do it.

The idea is that the product stays on quite a bit. It really does and once it is gone, it leaves my lips feeling nourished and super soft. What more can one want from a lip balm?

As for the flavour, this one is strawberry flavoured apparently. I said apparently as I was certain it was some candy floss flavour before I read the description. The lippie balm is a bit fresh and a bit sweet though and it is absolutely wonderful in my opinion. I don’t really care what the official flavour description is. It is just great and it feels great.

One other thing that I should mention is that this product is not really something that you want to wear under lipstick. I am not sure how that would even work to be honest. It might work on top of lipstick, but I haven’t tried it as I did not see the need.

The lippie balm from ColourPop is like said gummy, but it has a super glossy finish. It is more like an extra nourishing gloss rather than just a simple balm. Even if you don’t think that is your thing, I do recommend you give it a try when you place an order. The product is priced at 6 USD and it is worth every cent.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, I am head over heels in love with this product. I cannot stop applying it. I have been using it so much that I had to ask my flatmate to hide it so that I would not run out of it before my next order.

The one thing I don’t like as much is the application method. I usually disliked tubes and would much rather have a doe foot applicator or something if the product is not a stick, but in this case it kinda works well.

Also, be prepared for people to notice your super pouty lips if you ever go out in public wearing this product!

Hope you give By the Bushel Lippie Balm from ColourPop a try. You won’t regret it!
