Huda Beauty Demi Matte Cream Lipstick in ‘Mogul’

You probably know by now that I have not had the chance to try that many Huda Beauty products. I did try a few and my impression was a pretty good one. In case you are interested, here I review the Melted Shadow from the brand. Today though, I want to tell you about a different product and that is the Demi Matte Cream Lipstick. This product was actually the 1st product in the Harrods Beauty Advent Calendar.

Huda Beauty Demi Matte Cream Lipstick Review

When I first saw this product, I have to say that I was incredibly intrigued. A liquid lipstick that is Demi Matte? It sounded like something I would like. Normally, liquid lipsticks and in particular matte ones are drying and thus, not something I can wear. They tend to crack and end up looking horrible on me so no thank you. I would rather stick with something hat is comfortable and does not crack.

The Huda Beauty Demi Matte Cream Lipstick is super creamy and easy to apply. The product glides onto the lips just like a regular liquid lipstick does. However, instead of drying, this product remains pretty wet looking almost like a pigmented gloss. That is definitely not what I expected this product to do. So while there is definitely no cracking or drying of any kind, well, there is no drying. Hope that makes sense. I found that the product remained pretty wet, like I mentioned above. I expected something that dried out a bit matte and still remained creamy enough not to crack. I cannot say that is what I got. Instead, I got a product that remains pretty wet and I cannot say that there was anything matte going on there. Sure, it is a bit less glossy than an actual gloss, but not by much.

Look, I do not know whether it was just my lipstick or all of them act the same way, but I wanted to share this. Some fo you might be tempted to purchase the Demi Matte lipstick from Huda Beauty thinking that it will be an upgraded version of a matte liquid lipstick while for me it was not really that. There were some resemblances sure, but the matte component was almost missing.

As for the colour, I love the fact that the lipstick is a colour named ‘Mogul’. I think any girl boss would appreciate that. The colour itself is a brown pink with a significant more brown side than a pink one. I believe that the official description is that the colour is more of a vintage pinkish nude. Personally, despite being super fond of the name, I am not as fond of the colour. The colour simply does not work on me. It almost could work as I am a pinkish nude type of person, but overall the shade is too dark for me.

Overall, I think that the Huda Beauty Demi Matte Liquid Lipstick is very creamy and that it feels really nice of the lips. The product is luxurious and high quality. The pigmentation is definitely there, however if you’re looking for a more matte product then this is probably not it? Personally, I really want to try some lighter shades as the formula is pretty great, but the colour ‘Mogul’ is not for me.
