If you read my review on the Nivea Beauty advent calendar then you probably know just how excited I am to share the reviews of the products included inside the calendar with you. Today I am going to be sharing the review of the first product from the calendar which is the Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream.
The Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream from Nivea is not a product I can say that I used in the past. If I have, I honestly do not remember. I might have, but if that is the case then I was way too young when I did (think younger than 5 years old).
Enough chit chat, we have lots of things to get done so let’s talk about the product. Before we do that, I want to emphasise that the review is based purely on the thoughts I had while trying this product recently and it is not impacted (as much as possible of course) by my love and fondness of the brand. You know me, I tell it as I see it.
Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream Review
The beauty of this product and the first thing that caught my attention is that this product is pretty universal. You can use it both on your body and on your face. I know, I know! However, sometimes simple does not necessarily means worse. You can get all your active ingredients from serums which do a much better job anyways!
I thought that feature was cool, however not so much once I actually tried it. The cream from Nivea has a light texture. The cream is a bit thicker than a lotion though, but very light nonetheless. It is definitely lighter than a cream usually is. However, the nourishing bit makes the cream a bit greasy which is not something I want on my face, not with my oily skin. From this regard I cannot comment a lot as I tend to break out quite easily so I did not want to risk it. I will continue to talk about how it feels on the rest of the body though.
As I was saying, the cream can feel a bit greasy on the face and thus I decided to focus on the body. I love using it on my body as the cream is really nourishing, just as advertised! In addition, the Nivea Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream smells really nice. The scent is fresh and clean. It is very Nivea like which I love actually. However, despite all of these things, I found that the cream does not absorb super fast and it leaves a greasy sheen even on the body. I do no like that at all. I tried using it even on the rough patches to see what happens and while the cram does help, it still does not absorb all that well.
I cannot say that this cream is bad as it is not. I did like it despite all the drawbacks mentioned above. I truly did! However, this is not a product I would use on a daily basis. It just does not work all that well for my needs despite the fact that it does its job. I might consider buying it again as it works, but not anytime soon I am afraid.
I suggest you give it a try to see whether you have a similar experience. The product does indeed work and it is super affordable so it is not a huge loss, but I cannot say that it is a must buy.
