It has been a while since I tried Dior skincare, but when the Harvey Nichols gift with purchase became available last autumn, I took advantage of the opportunity to get myself some of their products. I splurged a bit! I rarely go for really expensive products and almost never for true luxurious ones, but I just wanted something different at that time and thus I got myself some Dior, including the Hydra Life 2 in 1 Sorbet Water toner.
Okay, you know why I got it. But is it any good? It is worth keeping around?
Dior Hydra Life 2 in 1 Sorbet Water Review
The Dior Hydra Life 2 in 1 Sorbet Water is a refreshing, gentle toner and beautifully scented. The fragrance is one we often find in Dior skincare and it does smell like a garden full of flowers and yet the scent is not artificial nor overpowering. It basically smells like expensive skincare.
Like I mentioned above, the Dior Hydra Life 2 in 1 Sorbet water is toning lotion that is meant to help your skin improve its ability to retain moisture, at least to help your other products become more effective, while also helping your skin look slightly better by improving the look of your pores and helping you deal with shine. It sounds like a dream come true, right? But does the Hydra Water 2 in 1 Sorbet Water actually work?
Hmm. That is the questions is it not?
Well, I do not have a straightforward answer for you. But then again, I rarely do.
Let’s tackle each aspect one by one.
When it comes to moisture retention, I have to say that the product itself does seem to help your skin retain moisture better. However, that is mainly because it sort fo makes your serums and moisturisers work a little bit better. It preps your skin for them, so to speak. From this regards, I would say that the Hydra Life 2 in 1 Sorbet Water is very much like an essence.
This brings me to my second point which is whether the toning lotion actually helps improve the appearance of your pores. Once against the answer is kinda yes, but that is also due to the fact that your skin retains moisture a little bit better.
Now I am speaking form my personal experience and not referring simply to this product but in general. My pores always look better when my skin is moisturised. That is because I am basically dealing with the root problem that causes my skin to look less than perfect and my pores enlarged.
I am going on a limb and say that this is also the case when it comes to Dior Hydra Life 2 in 1 Sorbet Water. If you notice an improvement in the appearance of your pores is because it helped you skin absorb the rest of the products in your skincare routine better. This is just my supposition though.
The third point which is keeping shine away is also related to the above, but also due to the powdery particles included in the toning lotion. Those particles play an important part as well in keeping your skin looking a bit more matte.
Overall, I truly love the Dior Hydra Life 2 in 1 Sorbet Water. It is effective, it smells nice and it is refreshing. It is gentle on my skin so it is really nice for a change to have a toner that is more focused on hydration than exfoliation. I rarely get to use these, but I liked it. I even loved it to be honest. I am currently on my second bottle so that is something! However, do I think this is the best toning lotion I have ever used? Perhaps not, but for now I truly do enjoy using it and I will continue to do so. I recommend you give the Dior Hydra Life 2 in 1 Sorbet Water a try.
