I am back with a new review since things have been a bit quiet on the beauty offers front. No worries, they will pick up really soon and I already have a bunch of incredible offers I cannot wait to share with you. I just want for them to go live before I share them. Until then, let’s talk about Crabtree and Evelyn’s Lip Exfoliator, shall we?
Crabtree & Evelyn Buff+Smooth Lip Exfoliator Review
I have to say that I was super excited about this Lip Exfoliator from Crabtree & Evelyn. The product was included in a beauty box from Latest in Beauty so I did not purchase it by itself. I had no idea what to expect and yet I had high hopes as I loved everything I had tried from the brand until that point. This brand is a permanent feature on my wish lists, however their above average prices made me postpone purchasing more from them.
The Buff+Smooth Lip Exfoliator from Crabtree & Evelyn is a bit different, yet not unique. It is a no mess exfoliator and it can be applied at any time, even on the go. You apply it just as you would any lip balm and then you are good to go. There is no mess and no fuss. The product is actually a lip balm with exfoliating particles. Not your usual exfoliator, but not quite unique either as there have been other brands that released similar products over time.
The fact that it is basically a 2-in-1 product made me even more interested in trying the Lip Exfoliator from Crabtree & Evelyn. I love products that are easy to use and that save time. While sometimes is nice to have a whole experience, other times, a girl just needs something that works and that makes things easier without wasting too much time. Products requiring too much time sometimes (quite often, I would say) end up gathering dust on a shelf somewhere (I know I am not the only one who does this so don’t even 🙂 ).
All good so far. Too good, I would say.
While the idea behind this product is a good one and like I said above, the product is a time saver, the product itself just does not do it for me. I will continue to use this product until it is time to throw it away, however I have to say that this is the first product from the brand that I do not wish to repurchase nor do I wish to receive ever again. No hard feelings, but I do expect more from my beauty products. The exfoliator is pretty effective, even if at times it feels a bit too rough on the lip and at other times, I can barely feel anything. It really comes down on the exfoliating bead that reaches the surface of the product. However, the main issue in my opinion is the balm itself. The balm is a bit greasy, but the quality of the balm is a bit of a letdown. It might seem that way because of the exfoliating beads, maybe they had to adjust the formula to accommodate the exfoliating particles, I do not know. All I know is that the balm is just not hydrating enough or rather comforting enough. After exfoliation, I need a comforting lip balm and this is not it and that is a pity.
Overall, the Lip Exfoliator from Crabtree & Evelyn had the potential to be a great product The odds were definitely in its favour starting with the brand and finishing with the idea behind the product. however in my opinion it does not deliver. It is a convenient product for sure, but the “lip balm” part is just not good enough gives its purpose. My lips might be more sensitive or something, but given the results I obtained, I do not feel comfortable recommending it.
