L’Oreal Revitalift Filler Concentrate

While I might have been unable to get my hands on the famous L’Oreal hyaluronic acid serum that reportedly is purchased every couple of second someone around the globe, I did manage to find another product from the range and that is the Revitalift Filler. I haven’t talked about a drugstore product in quite a while so why not now?

BTW, are you more interested in high end products or drugstore ones? Do let me know in a comment below.

L’Oreal Revitalift Filler Concentrate Review

Absolutely not. No, don’t even think about it. Now you know my opinion on this product, but since I love to hear myself talk, I am not going to stop here and I will provide some more comments below as to help you understand where I am coming from.

First of all, I have to say that I liked the packaging of this product. I found it very convenient which is definitely a plus when it comes to any beauty product. However, there times when the pump system would get a bit stuck and it made me believe the there was no more product left. That wouldn’t have been such an issue if you could see how much product left there is. I do not even want to think about how many might have thrown this product away without realising there was more product left inside. Then again, it might not be the worst thing ever.

Why I am being so negative about this product, you might wonder. Well, the product smells incredible however that there is the issue. The product not only has a strong fragrance to it, but it also smells pretty much like aftershave or something similar which makes me think – alcohol.

The ingredient list shows Alcohol Denat as an ingredient. Here comes the tricky part though. I honestly cannot tell you whether this is the cause or not. Not every alcohol is created equally and all that, at least from what I can remember from my first year undergraduate courses (chemistry is not my thing – my first ever classes in school were incredibly traumatic and left a bad taste which no one was able to erase, not even some fo the coolest teachers and that followed me to my UG studies). Anyway, this is an alcohol you might actually find in many other cosmetic products as it interacts well with other ingredients and has various purposes. Could it really be the one that makes me sense alcohol in this L’Oréal product? Maybe. However, as other alcohols, this is not an ingredient those with sensitive skin or dehydrated skin want to find in their products. Luckily, those are not my case, but I still find the whole thing a bit counteractive, don’t you? Alcohol causes moisture evaporation and this is a HA serum after all… We need a specialist to elucidate this, but logillay speaking I find it weird. If you have an explanation or better knowledge of chemistry, do let us all know what you think in a comment below please.

The texture of the product is pretty nice and I love how the product dries up fast on the skin while leaving the skin smooth. However, again, that fast absorption rate or rather evaporation is making me go “hmm”. Also, I found that the product rubs off the skin sometimes. It could be just me, but as you can tell, my experience with this was not necessarily pleasant in any way. While I might be lacking some info or some knowledge that can help me make better sense of the everything I went through with the product, I just cannot recommend it given my negative experience. I am not an expert and never claimed to be, so if you had a different experience or have more knowledge on the matter, I invite you to leave your thoughts below so that we can all learn more.

Knowing what I know combined with my experience drives me to tell you to stay away from this product. I never used a product that caused me so much headache before and since there are so many alternatives, cheaper or more luxurious, I would rather go with something else to fulfil my skin’s need for HA. You know me, while I always try to find the good parts when it comes to any product, I am all for going for the best of the best and not having to deal with any BS. That was no not meant to rhyme. Writing this review and everything about it makes me feel like I am throwing a fit or something, but I am really sorry, there will be products I won’t like or understand as much as others. I feel bad for not liking this and I have nothing against the brand, but just no.

I am not going to tell you where you can get this product. I believe it is pretty obvious for most of you, but I just do not feel comfortable sharing any links.

Have you ever tried this product before? Did you ever have a negative experience with an HA serum/product?
