Today’s review will focus on a product that I had been meaning to try for years now, however, getting my hands on it was too complicated to even bother. Things have changed in recent months, so I can finally tell you all about Necessaire’s Body Wash.
Necessaire – The Body Wash
This body wash is said to be gentle, effective, and hydrating. It is also free of harsh surfactants, sulfates, and parabens. The scent is supposed to be very light and refreshing, and to some, the texture seems creamy and even luxurious.
You can probably tell from the above paragraph that my experience with this product that I have been so curious to try for so long is slightly different. I was super excited to try the Body Wash from Neccesaire as the reviews were amazing. I thought that perhaps trying this new product, well new to me product, that maintained its top position in this niche for so many years will almost change my life. Yeah, that did not happen.
The first thing I noticed was the scent. It’s very light and refreshing, but to me, it also smells like soap. Not a luxurious, expensive, high-end soap… But the kind of soap my great-grandmother used to make at home to wash clothing before detergent was widely available. This is not necessarily a bad thing as some people might actually like that smell or be indifferent to it. I personally don’t like the smell and rather than putting me in a good mood, it does the opposite. I got the Eucalyptus version so I do not even want to know what the classic one smells like.
Another thing I noticed was the texture. The Body Wash is highly creamy and has a very light texture which should be great as normally products with this type of texture are more gentle on the skin, however that was not my experience.
So while the product can be considered creamy, it’s not luxurious or moisturizing. In fact, it actually makes my skin feel a little dry after using it. I wouldn’t say it’s stripping, but it’s not overly moisturizing either.
The Body Wash from Necessaire is formulated using ingredients rich in Niacinamide, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Omega-6 and Omega-9. On paper it looks great, does it not? All of these ingredients are well known to be beneficial to the skin. However, in all the time I used the product I perhaps only noticed a slight improvement in skin brightness, but nothing more.
All in all, I am disappointed with this product. It’s not terrible, but it’s not amazing either. If you are looking for a body wash that is going to change your life, I would recommend looking elsewhere. However, if you are just looking for a light, refreshing body wash that does the job, then this might be worth checking out if you do not mind dishing out a small fortune on it.
