Skin Rocks Acid Box by Caroline Hirrons

This is not really what I wanted to post today. In fact, this specific offer needs no real introduction and definitely does not need any commentary, but I did what to point out that this beauty box is available out there in case you missed the memo (highly unlikely). I wanted to post something other than a beauty offer, but I am still in that weird place (possibly weirder) and I feel like my inspiration is a bit low these days (possibly ever since Brexit). Sephora just does not cut it, not when there are so many beauty offers out there that I want to take advantage of. I guess we all want what we cannot have…

Anyway, without further ado, here are the contents of the Skin Rocks Acid Box by Caroline Hirrons (the queen, the ultimate guru, the everything when it comes to beauty)

Look, I am obviously not going to say anything bad. I am not that stupid. Just kidding! I would totally say whatever is on my mind regardless of who created this beauty box. You should know that by now. Yes, I do like Caroline quite a bit and I believe she is an amazing human being (not that I have ever met her in person) and I know I have nowhere near her level of knowledge when it comes to beauty, but that does not mean I would not express my honest opinion and share my personal experience with the products even if those are contradictory to Caroline’s.

Luck will have it, I actually believe that these products are nothing short of incredible. That is the reason why id decided to share this box after all. I know that the box is getting more than enough press and it will sell out, everything Caroline does sells out, but this is a good choice of box if you are looking for something new to try.

The Elemis balm is fantastic. I never used this specific one, I used the Rose version of it, however I have never used a cleanser and let alone a cleansing balm that feels this nice. The product has a cool, gel/cream like texture and it slides so nice on the skin. It is truly a joy applying it and it washes off just as easy, but takes away all the dirt and makeup. The skin is left feeling soft and surprisingly soothed and hydrated after use. There is no stripping of the skin here or it feeling dry and in dire need of moisture. Of course, you do need to follow up with the rest of the products in your routine, but the products on its own is vastly different from everything else I have tried. Plus, I have a feeling this version is significantly better than the rose one which has a very strong and not super pleasant fragrance to it.

The Ultra Gentle Acid Peels from Dr Dennis Gross are also pretty darn amazing. They are indeed quite gentle and and an easy way to incorporate acids in your routine. I feel more comfortable using these treatments and I am using a bottled acid. I know that the strength of these pads is perfect for my skin and there is no need to worry about potentially over-doing it. Some acids make me quite nervous, as you can probably tell.

I have not tried the other two products, however I do like dr. Jart++ quite a lot. The brand has some pretty amazing finds. When I first got something from the brand in a beauty box ages ago, I was a bit unsure, but giving it a try wa sone of the best decisions I have ever made in terms of skincare. Ever since I found quite a few products I cannot live without now such as the Cicapair collection or the Dermaclear Micro Foam Cleanser. Ceramides and I do not get along all that well which is why this product has been sitting on my wishlist for a while, but I do believe that I will ever find another version that works(found one ages ago from another Asian Beauty brand but has been since discontinued), it could be from Dr. Jart++.

I won’t comment on the REN Skincare product as I have not tried it and the brand and I are frenemies. I like some of their stuff, but toady dislike other products from them. *shrug.

There is no point in a conclusion here, but I do like the box and I hope to see more being released. The Caroline Hirrons kits are always a hit, but there are like 2 per year so potentially getting several boxes to choose from throughout the year would be amazing.

What do you think of this new beauty box?
