Holland and Barrett 25 Days Of Natural Beauty Advent Calendar Review

Now that my advent calendars started arriving, I guess it is time to actually review them. Some of the calendars that I will mention in this series of posts might still be available while others might have gone out of stock by the time of posting. That can be pretty upsetting, I know. However, I still hope that you can get some value from these reviews. I know that it is not even December yet, but I hope that these reviews will help you when it comes to choosing your advent calendars next year. Is that too much to hope? Perhaps.

This post will contain spoilers so if you don’t want to know what is inside the calendar then you might want to turn away now. There are many other reviews on this blog to keep you entertained *wink.

25 Days Of Natural Beauty Advent Calendar

The Holland and Barrett beauty advent calendar is my first ever calendar from the brand. I was honestly curious to try it since last year it went out of stock is just a few days. Everyone seemed to love it! Plus, the calendar comes with 25 natural beauty products which is unlike any of the other calendars that I ordered or am still considering for this season. Furthermore, even though I have been trying more and more natural beauty, my collection is still small. This was the perfect occasion to add to it, don’t you think so?

Price

In terms of price, this calendar was a steal. The Holland and Barrett calendar is the most affordable one that I purchased this year and I doubt that things will change. It would be nearly impossible to get one that is more affordable than this one was. The H&B calendar was priced at £35 and I managed to get an extra £5 off plus free delivery. I love a good beauty offer!

Delivery

Speaking about delivery, the product was delivered in just a few days. But never mind that. What impressed me was the fact that the calendar was delivered in a slightly larger box than the calendar and yet no extra package or filling was included. How rare is that! So many brands fill boxes with extra plastic or stuff that you just end up tossing away and further polluting the earth. That was not the case here. And to be honest, what impressed me the most was the fact that the calendar arrived in one piece regardless of the fact that there was space for the calendar to move around the box.

Calendar box

The actual calendar is big and despite its simple design, the calendar looks nice and perfect to display during the holidays. Also, it makes a nice gift. I know that size does not matter, but almost everyone I know is more excited about a large gift. Are you also in the same boat? Now, seriously, the size does not matter. But the calendar is indeed cute.

What was disappointing was the fact that the two sides of the calendar contain plastic trays to house the products. That goes against the whole clean an eco friendly idea that the calendar is pushing. There is just so much plastic inside. I mean, come on. They could have easily used card little boxes just like other brands used.

Another thing that I noticed is that some of the doors were slightly opened due to the way the calendar was delivered. That can be quite upsetting for those who prefer to keep the items a secret and be surprised in December. Furthermore, the little doors are not that easy to open without damaging them. You need to be careful and dim down that enthusiasm in order to keep the calendar in one piece.

However, on the other hand, the little doors contain some limited product information on the inner side and even better, some doors can be used as vouchers for purchases of products for the brands that are hidden behind them.

Value and Contents

In terms of value, this calendar is pretty incredible. The value of the calendar from Holland and Barrett is around £140 which makes this calendar a steal. The price/value ratios is one that I can truly get behind.

However, what matters most are the actual contents. And in terms of contents, this calendar got it right. It truly covered all its basics. The Holland and Barrett Beauty Advent Calendar contains skincare, body care, lip care, handcare, haircare and even some dental care… All the essentials are there.

As for the brands included, the calendar contains many incredible brands. There is definitely a lot of quality. I won’t go into more details here as I plan on reviewing the products during December, but here is a list if you are interested.
