I am all for finding the right toner or micellar water for that matter, but these things are never easy. There are so many products on the market that simply don’t work. Not long ago I got the opportunity to try out the Dr Organic Aloe Vera Micellar Cleansing Water. This product was included as the third product in the Holland and Barrett beauty advent calendar.
Dr Organic is a clean beauty brand that I found to be a hit or miss. There have been quite a few products that I loved, but this is my first time trying the Aloe Vera Micellar water.
Does it work?
Dr Organic Aloe Vera Micellar Cleansing Water Review
The product has a very liquid texture, I mean it is super runny just like water. I felt the need to mention this as recently I found some that have a very thick texture (weird, right?). Not only does it have such a watery texture, but the Aloe Vera Micellae Cleansing Water feels very much like water. A scented water, that is. Why was I expecting something else, I will never know!
The scent of this Dr Organic micellar water is fresh, natural but not that pleasant. It is not a scent I feel the need to sense on my skin. But those with sensitive skin might appreciate the fact that the micellar water with Aloe Vera does not have any artificial fragrances with the brand being a clean beauty brand and all.
How does it feel on the skin? Most importantly, does it really help in cleansing the face?
I am going to start by answering the second questions first. Yes, the micellar water with Aloe Vera from Dr Organic does seem to remove impurities quite well, but personality I would not rely on it to do so. I would use a stronger cleanser before in order to ensure that Makeup and everything else came off. I would use this as a second cleanser if necessary.
About how it feels, well not great to be honest. When you run a cotton pad infused with this product all over your face, it does not feel bad. Not at all. However, as soon as the micellar water dries on the skin, the skin feels sticky. The skin is left comfortable, not dry, but sticky which is something I never sensed with such a product before. Never!
I don’t know whether this product from Dr Organic does not work for me or it is in fact really bad. However, I obviously cannot recommend it. The only sort of redeemable quality it has is the fact that it is organic. Just to be clear, I am a huge fan of organic beauty and clean beauty, but the products do need to work for me to love them and this Aloe Vera Micellar Cleansing Water from Dr Organic is not one such product as far as I experienced.
Overall, I really cannot from men’s this product. If you do try it or have tried it, leaves us your thoughts below.
