Revolve Beauty Mane Obsession bag

Are we doing this again? I thought so. So let’s skip the awkward intro for once and let’s get to the subject. There is no point pretending I am going to have the chance to write a new review for the next couple of weeks at least. Sorry if you are disappointed. I kinda am as well, however it seems that retailers are trying to make up for the lack of offers in January. If the occasion does arrive, rest assured that I will do my best to tell you all about a beauty product I tried so that you don’t have to, if it is crap of course.

I never learn, do I? I said no intro and if that above is not an intro, then I have no idea what it is.

Okay, so Revolve (my favourite US retailer – favourite because it actually offers international delivery and interesting items, but mostly international delivery) is back with a new rendition of their beauty bags. If you recall, it was not that long ago that they released another beauty bag and they are back at it again. This time around, the beauty bag from Revolve focuses on hair. How exciting!

Oh! Before we start, if you have never purchased anything from Revolve before, you might want to read this. That article is for UK only, however I recently purchased something and had it shipped to the EU and other than having to fill in some paper work for customs release, the delivery took 4 working days and there were no issues whatsoever. I chose to pay the custom fees at checkout so there would be no delays. For UK, the fees are usually already included in the price so there is not extra taxes you need to pay.

I love hair products, I really do. Probably the most items in my collection besides skincare of course, are hair products. I’ve never really been a girly girl growing up and neither have any of the women in my family, not really. Most of my friends are not either so I never actually got the chance to learn all about doing your hair. I usually keep it simple and if I need something more sophisticated, I turn to a professional. However, I prefer to keep it simple. Given that my hair is pretty flat though, I do try to find some products that give me more volume or make it look more presentable overall without too much fuss. I am not sure I am explaining this right, but I want my hair to look as if I made at leats a bit of an effort without making too much of one. Time is no on my side either so… That is how I ended up with lots of hair products, perhaps more than I will need in one lifetime. But then gain, not that many work as I want them too and as such, I don’t mind getting new ones. It is a vicious cycle really. The point is that this is one of the reasons why I am excited when I see beauty bags such as this one from Revolve. This is a great opportunity to try new hair products and get more value for your money. Plus, the small sizes at least are more likely to get used up even if the products are not really for you. At least you know, before purchasing the full sized items.

Okay, in terms of actual products reviews. I only used two products from the list above. I am as surprised as you are. However, the only one I feel comfortable talking about are the Slip Hair Ties. In fact, I review the Slip Hair Ties here. The other product I tried is the hair mask from Christophe Robin, but the mask I received from LookFantastic last summer was a bit off so I do not feel comfortable talking about it until I get a new one that is perhaps/hopefully not expired! I love the brand though. It has become one of my to go to haircare brands.

R+Co, hmm this is a brand that I purchased quite a few products from. Once upon a time, I made the mistake to get quite a few of their products in order to qualify for a HN beauty with purchase. Oooops. Now, as I am writing this I started thinking about where did I store those products. I know for sure that I did not end up using them up. And it hit me. I stored them in a box that I have not opened in at least two years. Go me! This never happened before to be honest, but R+Co despite seeming cool, did not really work for me. So despite not trying the one product included in this beauty bag, I do not have high hopes for it. I would rather stick to the other brands that uses similar, cool marketing and packaging – IGK Hair.

The only other product or rather brand that I will mention here is Olaplex. I was quite reluctant to give the brand a try despite the many great reviews. Like I said, I already have lots of haircare products and even expensive ones that I haven’t really used. I love haircare, I felt the need to stress that once again for some reasons, but I would rather get to try it from GWP or something than actually go and purchase more. However I did get one bottle of No3 from Olaplex. I used it a few times and then let it sit, but I just recently discovered (after a weird haircut – will talk about this more some other time) that there is something there, something worth investigating further. Once I finish the bottle, I will review it. However yes, this might just be an amazing product as well.

As for the rest of the products, I have some of them on my Wishlist, but I have no tried them. I haven’t even tried anything from the brands so I am not about to speak about things I have no experience with.
