And if you do not intend to keep the bag yourself, it looks good enough to give away as a gift. It can be hard to find the time to shop at times or at least hard to pick something for someone else, but with this beauty bag, the recipient will have enough to choose from so that they untimely end up with something to their taste.
Variety-wise, the beauty bag from Fenwick is doing really well. I guess we established that, however, size-wise is a bit disappointing compared to other beauty gifts that other retailers have put at our disposal in the past.
Look, I always appreciate when a retailer releases such a gift, however, I cannot look past it and not mention the fact that as a customer, you should always try to get the best value you can. You worked hard for your money and that is reason enough to take care of it. It does not mean you can not enjoy or splurge every once in a while, but then there is splurging and… You get where I am going with this. There are a few occasions where I do believe that some retailers deserve some slack, especially if they are truly trying to be eco-friendly, do significantly more for their employees, etc, but I do not know whether that is the case here as I have little to no experience when it comes to Fenwick. For that reason, I won’t drive this article in that direction as I refuse to become someone who speaks about things they have no clue about. I hope you can understand and accept my stance on this matter.
In terms of actual products, the selection is quite nice. There is a bit too much makeup for my taste, but I am assuming we are going to start seeing more and more moving forward. I still believe it is way too soon as all of us still have enough makeup to last us for a while, but yeah.
What can I tell you about the products included in the beauty bag from Fenwick? Well, the Philip Kingsley Elasticer is a pretty great product, especially if you have the patience to use it right and apply it enough times for it to become effective. Seriously, it works. However, it is not a quick fix type of product not does it generate as incredible results as it can if you use it sporadically. It is for when you have enough time to do a pamper session.
The Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is perhaps one of the best setting powders out there. It does a proper job and leaves your makeup looking flawless for longer. It does not feel heavy nor make your skin look fake, not unless you go overboard with the application. It is a loose powder I really came to appreciate.
The Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is also quite an interesting product. The lip pencil is highly pigmented and it is not really a lip pencil as in a liner, but rather a lipstick in pencil form. The product glides nicely on the lips and has an okay lasting power. It is easy to use and convenient. Personally, I prefer it over traditional lipsticks, including those from Nars.
Overall, the Fenwick beauty bag is okay. The gift with purchase does include some products that are interesting and nice, but it lacks that certain something that would have made it special. I cannot say that I spotted anything particularly interesting to make me want to get it right this instant.
