Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint

Over the past few years I have gone from wearing makeup basically each time I left the house to wearing less and less. I never really had a full glam look on, I tried to keep it simple, but now it is simpler than it ever was. Well, except for when I was not wearing any.

Now as I started working full time and hustling on the side,  but even towards the end of my Master’s degree, I simply did not have enough time. I was always in a rush and doing my makeup was no longer as fun, not during schooldays/workdays anyway. For that reason, I started looking into BB creams and other similar products.

I’ve tried many tinted moisturisers and BB creams, but I never really got it right. I went from drugstore brands to more high end brands and none were really what I was looking for. Finding the right shade also seems a bit problematic. You would not think that, but it is quite problematic. Most brands that carry such products have an incredibly small range or shades, or they did in the beginning when I first purchased their product. Anyway, on my quest I decided to give the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint a try.

If you have been around for a while, you might know that I do not have the best relationship with Glossier. I found many of their products to be hit or miss. Sadly, more miss than hit.

Here are some my previous Glossier review:

Where does the Perfecting Skin Tint from Glossier stand? It is a hit or was it yet another miss from the brand?

Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint Review

The Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint is definitely not what I was expecting when I decided to purchase it. The product is also different from any tinted moisturiser or BB cream that I encountered before. That is normal as this is not a BB cream by any means. The Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint  is, as the name suggests, in fact a skin tint and a sheer one at that.

When the product first came out, it was one of the few products of its kind and sadly not  that much has changed since.

The Perfecting Skin Tint from Glossier has a very different formula than any BB cream out there in the sense that this product is more like a coloured oily liquid rather than a cream. It is very light and not that oily, but the product is definitely a bit thicker than pigmented water.

Like I said, very strange formula compared to most products out there. But this does not mean it is a bad change. I quite enjoy it.

The formula allows you to spread the product easily onto the skin and it leaves no streaks. There is almost no needs for blending so you can easily apply this product using your fingers without the need of any fancy makeup tools. In fact, I do not use any tools and I would recommend the same to you. The product would be easily absorbed by a beauty sponge and as such you would end up now where if you were to attempt the technique. If you really feel the need, you can use a brush, perhaps a buffing face brush once you are done applying the product with your fingers. But there is really no need.

How does the Perfecting Skin Tint look on though?

I was pleasantly surprised by this product from Glossier, to be honest. While this is not the kind of product for those who love a lot of coverage, it is exactly what I need. I would have no minded a bit of coverage, but the skin tint from Glossier despite it being incredibly sheer, it just makes the skin look better. You cannot really see this product on, it is like there is nothing there and yet your skin looks better and more perfect. Some of the impressions are blurred and your skin looks overall more even.

If you do not mind a sheer coverage or you love a natural look then you must try out this product. I am being serious now. This Perfecting Skin Tint from Glossier is you, but better. I am not fond of using that expression, but it truly make your skin look better without making it seem like you have something on.

In terms of shades, there are quite a few to choose from. I went with G10 which might seem a bit dark – see below – but when blended it fits my skin quite perfectly. It is a really good shade for me as it does not make me seem pale, but not bronzed either.

Overall, the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint is a non pretentious, easy to use and incredibly convenient product that makes your skin seem a bit more dewy and glowy as well as more even without needing to spend too much time on it. This is really a lifesaver for those who love a natural look or for those who do not have that much time to spend on makeup. Yes, I highly recommend you give this product a try.

I also have a hit/miss relationship with Glossier. The Skin Tint was a miss for me. I liked how sheer it was, perfect for work days or busy days like you said. But my skin is so oily, the skin tint just made it look awful, like I ran a marathon and didn’t wipe off the sweat. 😭 I hope they come out with a matte version one day, I really enjoy that light coverage. Right now I’m using the Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream, which I like, but still not as sheer and easy to blend with your fingers like the Skin Tint. Great review!

Thank you! I am sorry that the product does not work for you. Have you tried working on getting your skin to become less oily? The Dr Sebagh HA serum repair did wonders for me. My skin is way less oily than before as it simply lacked moisture and compensated for it. That is another thing, but with the Glossier tint if you still have it, you could try using a setting powder on top.
