It hasn’t been that long since my last and first ever Oribe review and now I am back with a new one. Today, I want to talk to you a bit about the Serene Scalp Exfoliating Scrub which was included in the Revolve Beauty Advent Calendar.
Are you as surprised as I am to be reviewing a second Oribe product? It took me years to write my first one! Anyway, here are my thoughts on the scalp exfoliating scrub.
Serene Scalp Exfoliating Scrub Review
Other than the super cute packaging, the first I noticed about the product is just how easy it is to apply it.
There are some scrubs that are simply too thick for their applicator and make the entire experience horrible. It is usually hard enough to get the product were you want it, but to add to that the inability to get the product out of the bottle… That is not the case here.
The product is not thick, it is almost like a creamy face scrub in terms of texture and that makes it easier to disperse the product and not just get it out of the tube. That was a pleasant surprise. If I did not have high hopes before I started using this product, I did get my hopes up once I saw that this product is much more easier to apply and get where you want it than most other scalp scrubs on the market. I don’t know about you, but most scrubs end up stuck in my hair and rarely end up reaching my scalp with the exception of the application site, of course. This Serene Scrub from Oribe is surprisingly easier to rub around and get it to cover a wider area. Definitely less frustrating to use!
In terms of effects, the effects are not wow, but is because the scrub is more gentle. In this case that is a really good thing even if it might mean some of you (us) will use it more often, it is more gentle on the skin as well as on the hair. There are some scrubs that leave my hair dry (on top of being hard to work onto the skin), but once again the Serene Scalp Exfoliating Scrub surprised me. It works and I actually liked it.
Yes, you read that right. I actually liked this scrub. Now that is a surprise. Look, I do not know why I made this review so awkward to read, I have been a bit out of it for the past few days and writing about a scrub such as this one when I do not know the right terminology does not help matters. I like the product. However, yes, there is always a however, so while I am considering purchasing a full size, I also liked the Charcoal Shampoo from Soap and Glory just fine. Said shampoo was more than enough for my needs and it also worked while not having such a high price tag attached to it. Of course the ingredients are different and their quality might differ as well.
If you are looking for a high quality, luxurious product and you do not mind spending a small fortune on it, then I recommend giving the Serene Scrub from Oribe a go. However, if you are happy with something more affordable that still works, then maybe skip this one. Once again, I do find this product to be quite good and a pleasant surprise.
Where can you purchase the Serene Scalp Exfoliating Scrub from?
