You know how much I love SkinCity, right? I hope that I made that clear over this past year. If not, here it is again. I freaking love SkinCity! They have amazing products from many brands that are not always widely available, but also their own range. A product from their older range of essential products was included in the 2020 beauty advent calendar and here is what I think of it. The product in question is the Coffee Grain Exfoliator Stick.
SkinCity Coffee Grain Exfoliator Stick
I know I mentioned this before, but I love physical exfoliators even though I know I should not. However, I do have the kind of skin that can handle them pretty well with no issues. Despite this, I try to not overdo it though. However, every once in a while…. it is just so satisfying. For that reason, I was looking forward to trying out this exfoliator stick, especially since I kinda liked the cleansing stick from the same collection.
I was expecting an exfoliator that would not be suitable for those with sensitive skin. However, this Coffee Grain Exfoliator is less rough than my Bailey’s Coffee Ice Cream with Coffee Grains so… If an exfoliator is smoother than actual ice cream, that says a lot. You might actually be able to get away with using this product even if you have sensitive skin. I do recommend patch testing it though. Otherwise, this product is recommend for all skin types.
As you probably deduced from my short rant above, this stick is not not harsh on the skin. In fact, for the most part, I barely felt the coffee grains, but the effects were visible regardless.
How do you use the stick? Super easy. That is what I love about it. You wet your face and run the stick all over. You don’t even get product on your hands. You just wash it off and are left with exfoliated and glowing skin. There is really not that much else to it.
Due to the fact that the product is formulated using Glycerin and Propylene Glycol, the product also leaves the skin feeling soothed and moisturised. Of course you need to follow with the rest of the steps of your routine, but the exfoliating stick from SkinCity is pretty gentle on the skin and does not strip it leaving it feeling uncomfortable.
Also, to my complete surprise, my skin did not react to this product nor did I end up with irritated spots. Stick products rarely work for me and they often cause acne flare ups to my skin. That was not the case here.
Overall, I really liked the Coffee Grain Exfoliation Stick. This is an easy to use, effective and travel friendly product. However, there is not much else to it, as mentioned above. You pretty much get what you see. There is nothing extraordinary about this product, but perhaps that is exactly what makes this product even more worth it. I recommend it.
