Hope you all had a great day. I spent the day baking in order to decompress after the week I’ve had. However, I decided to pop on here while my impressions of the STARSKIN Hollywood Hand Model™ Nourishing Double-Layer Hand Mask Gloves are still fresh and share them with you.
As I mentioned previously, my hands get really bad at some points throughout the year. At first I thought it was the lab disinfectant but then I stopped doing labs (by choice). So no more labs and yet my hands still looked pretty weird and all cracked up. Long story, short, I think I finally figured it out. My issues are caused by a combination of using disinfectant, frequent washing, detergents and cold weather. I do not even need to spend too much time outside… It sucks, but at least I did find some products that help, at least for a while. However most of these take some time to work and I would not mind finding a better solution. Like for example. when I started my current job and had to shake lots of hands (don’t worry, this was a bit before this whole craziness) my hands were at their worst. I am going to spare you the gory details, but it was pretty disgusting and I was so embaraased and did my best to hide it. I needed a quick fix and could not find anything. My point is that when I find something that promises results, I am quick to try it. Now was also the right time as I just noticed that my skin started turning red again and new cracks might be on the horizon. Is the STARSKIN Hollywood Hand Model™ Nourishing Double-Layer Hand Mask Gloves the solution I have been looking for all this time?
Well, no. I found the hard way that Starskin is not the solution for anything as far as I am concerned. However, do keep reading! Luckily, this hand mask was included in the January LookFantastic box so at least I did not purchase it myself and paid full price for it.
So on one hand I was a bit apprehensive to try the mask as Starskin never worked in the past, but I was curious to see whether it would work or at least help. I already had the mask so no harm done, right? Right.
The STARSKIN Hollywood Hand Model™ Nourishing Double-Layer Hand Mask Gloves is super easy to use. You just need to open up the packet, remove the mask and put it on.
The two gloves are sawn at the entry point so that the liquid does not leak and they plastic was completely dry on the outside. You can easily handle them without getting any of the good stuff all over you. You can use a pair of scissors to separate the two gloves, but you can just as easily break them apart. I did not use scissors and had no issues. I stuck my hands inside and waited around 15-20 minutes. There was no mess, not fuss.
The first thing I noticed upon putting on the gloves was that the feeling was quite unlike the one I had been expecting. The feeling was different than that of the other times I tried similar products. While the inside of the glove was wet due to the products inside (duh), it was different. No sure if that makes any sense. It was wet, but not as wet as the product was more oil like than a watery serum. Now that really surprised me and it was a pleasant surprise. I love encountering new things.
As mentioned above, the STARSKIN Hollywood Hand Model™ Nourishing Double-Layer Hand Mask Gloves was not exactly the miracle product I have been looking for, however this has to be the best product from Starskin I tried to this day. I often got swamped up in the hype of this brand with them offering these 7 in 1 pads that could have easily saved me lots of time in the mornings or their more recent pudding moisturiser or cactus range…Safe to say, I tried quite a few products and yet none of them really impressed me whatsoever. I found them to be a bit pricey and not that effective. However, it is not the case as far as the Hollywood Hand Model™ Nourishing Double Layer Hand Mask Gloves are concerned. These hand gloves are a bit pricey, but at least they work.
The STARSKIN Hollywood Hand Model™ Nourishing Double-Layer Hand Mask Gloves left my hands feeling nourished and my skin was more comfortable after use. It was also smoother and softer. Plus, there was nearly any residue and the bit that was left after wearing the gloves for around 20 minutes, was easily absorbed. The residue was like a dry oil which I kinda dig.
Okay so as far as I am concerned, Starskin finally did something right. However (you should totally be used to by now), the gloves are not by any means cheap, retailing at about £9 depending on the offer. That is quite a bit for a single use item. Look, I know that there are sheet masks that cost £40 or more, hell, I even own some of them (gwp), but spending £9 on a single use hand mask seems a bit excessive especially when there are many hand creams cheaper than this you can get way more uses out of and even use them to create your own hand masks with a pair of cotton gloves and even socks. Okay, now that phrase was way longer than it should have been and any English majors will hate me after this (probably not more than they already are for botching the English language on a daily basis), but yeah. My point is that you can create your own hand masks using a pair of cotton gloves or even a pair of socks if you do not own a pair of cotton gloves and the effects are similar. The idea behind this item is that you get to keep a larger amount of product and have it absorb over a period of time. Now that I think about it, a pair of gloves or socks are more eco-friendly as well. Just saying!
Now, if you want to get the STARSKIN Hollywood Hand Model™ Nourishing Double-Layer Hand Mask Gloves then you totally should. They are good and I see no reason why not to at least try the product. However, like I said above, there are alternatives you might want to consider.
